I love these articles... mainly because we kinda already know it is true...  we all knew Apple is the snotty elite phone and Android is the poor(commoner)-man's smartphone...
Who all knew? Seems like you're the only one making these kind of generalizations. If it was just the rich who had the iPhone... how do they sell so many?

What do you mean?  The article speaks for itself... 45% of people making $150,000 have iPhones... The "Rich" gravitate towards the iPhone, they want the bugs work out for them; they don't want headaches and pay $$ to have things that are simple and just work; they are the same people that I cater to; I help solve their problems and make things work for them... we are the Android users, we figure things out, tinker with stuff, ask questions, experiment and take things apart...

I don't want to pay $$ to have a solution created for me; I would rather create something myself that suits my needs, taste and desires on a shoe string budget... therefore, I am a lowly commoner, a blue-collar worker just another poor Android user...

The other poor population who use iPhones just want to look rich, or in many cases just look stupid... or like an idiot for dropping the kind of $$ for the fruit phone...

BTW the $150,000 is a joke...  I bet the "real" wealthy are rocking $5k Android TagHeuers...

Spoken like a true 99%er

This hi-larious... you need to Jailbreak just to so these things?  Are you serious?  If you have a iPhone, can you tell me why you haven't done it yet?  Android does 95% of all those things right out of the box... Welcome to freedom...!

We're getting mixed reviews... about Sprint's version of the One-X... the new Evo 4G

The EVO 4G LTE isn't the HTC One X ? it might be better - I always like the "Red" accents HTC put into our phones, but it's a bit much... plus I so like the polycarbonate shell is just so much cooler...  I don't buy it; I think the new Evo will our sell their G-Nex coming out soon too; but not by much...

Finally digging the new Google Book UI on the old phone...  the difference a 3D pager turning effect has on the kid...!

I'm still not on board with these super huge screened phones.

How do you store your GNex RC? In your pocket? In a holster?

Although... I am still considering the Note... hehe.

it all depends; things are not as simple as it was pre-smartphone days...  to add to it; the wife got me a HUGE Coach wallet for my B-Day; BTW not that I'm all CK, LV out, but my last Coach wallet lasted like 10+ years...

So there are different modes to what I carry in my wallet...

Light Mode: running errands, lunch, commuting - Comprise of just:

The inner wallet insert - with just ID, a $20 Bill, a blank check & my CC - in my right pocket

images

My car keys in the same pocket and the G-Nex in my left pocket.

Moderate Mode: Commuting, weekends

My Wallet Light - right pocket, HTC Desire in same pocket
Keys & G-Nex in the Left Pocket - I'm not too concerned since the G-Nex has a cover and screen protector

Heavy Mode: Traveling, Weekends
My Full Wallet & Desire in Right Pocket
G-Nex, Keys, Earplugs & Extra Battery Left Pocket

By this point, with regular slacks, looks like I'm going on a day hike, but it's still usually manageable...

The Note is manageable, use a stero or one sides BT earpiece and you're good to go... the thing never leaves your pocket to make calls... it's thin enough, great for watching a full movie comfortably, while being a step up in productivity with the Stylus.

The one movie that I watch over and over again on the HTC is Tron Legacy, while every other movie come and go; Tron has stayed on the SD card.

It's one of those rare movies that I don't get tired of.  Besides watching it I love to simply listen to the sound track, not the official music sound track but just put on the earphones and listen to the entire movie.

Something about the electronic sound effects, voices, music, dramatic and melodic movements mixed in with the heavy thumping base of Daft punk and pure electronica.

The experience is like no other; it's been the soundtrack of choice on flights home; a perfect way to unwind, drown out the jet engine noise, and be lulled into a deep virtual ambient dream-scape.

My earphone of choice lately are these..

Earphones have came a long way, I've tried BT over the ear ones but these just sound better.  The base just pops as if the sub woofer is sitting right next to me.

CM7 has a nice built in equalizer, which in my opinion is better than even Beats Audio, I've tried listening to the Rezound side by side with my Desire and it's a tad better in intensity and virtual effects.

PS... One of the reason why I love Tron is because of its ICS Dark Blue themes; after trying a few Tron wallpapers... I've recently settled on this...

Nokia: Two million Lumia phones sold in Q1 but profits still fallinghttp://www.engadget.com/2012/04/11/nokia-2012-q1-forecast/

On the upside, sales of the Lumia handsets are still growing, selling two million of the series in the last three months alone.

That is about 2-days worth of Android Sales...

Now I don't feel half as guilty about my tech lust as I used to... great insight and balanced reporting; most assembly does seem to be by hand, but I'm sure there are numerous component that are automated... I'm guessing, machines replace tasks that humans aren't precise or fast enough; other than that, everything is human labor...

Deducing from the piece, I'm guessing that one iPad would pay for a worker's salary for an entire month..

long day... stuck in a hotel banquet hall, at least I'm not out in the rain...  I was on a little Android life-raft with our ICS phones and tablets looking out into a sea of iSharks all day...

This is probably the first time; that I can recall that I had full bar 4G up & down; I was clocking full 7 megs/second, the G-Nex was flying today; feeding 3-4 meg files to iUsers all day was actually fun...

The laptop was also in use as a demo; so we had to Bluetooth transfer some files on the spot... Android handled it beautifully...

As this week has demonstrated; Android has handles Lite-Mobile productively beautiful... the little guy was literally on fire; closing deals, hot-spotting 4 devices, remoting desktops, submitting quotes, playing videos, editing spreadsheet numbers; my productivity didn't skip a beat...  I'm as comfortable sitting in a hotel lobby with my Android as I am sitting at my desk in front of the full size PC.

I wanted to call it a night and weekend; but just thought I share one more article...

Review: Samsung Galaxy Note ? Oversized iPhone Killer?http://isource.com/2012/04/07/review-samsung-galaxy-note-oversized-iphone-killer/

S-Memo_01_thumb.jpg

Wrapping It All Up
I started this process referring to the Note as a monster and wondering if it was an iPhone Killer. I?m going to end it the same way. A short while ago I ran into an issue with the Note,  so I took it back to AT&T and at the same time decided to switch back to the 4s. I was concerned that the issue I had would continue, and honestly Android didn?t hold much weight over iOS for me without the S-Pen so going to the Skyrocket wasn?t a thought. I figured I would live with the smaller screen size in hopes that Apple would increase it with the next device.
That switch lasted less than an hour and I knew I had made a mistake going back the 4s. Within 24 hours I was back at AT&T, paying the $35 restocking fee and going back to the Note. I love iOS, and if I could get it on the Galaxy Note I would in a heartbeat, but not even iOS can make up for the tiny screen size on the 4S or the functionality I?ve found with the S-Pen. While the Galaxy Note is a monster, once you?ve spent some time with the device it?s not as big and scary as it once seemed. It turns out the Samsung Galaxy Note is an iPhone Killer, at least for me. And that?s the only iPhone killer that really matters isn?t it? the one that kills your iPhone.

I can't wait until I get my own Google Tablet, and really retire any need for actual pen & paper; my digital integration into Android will be complete...

This is what scares me about an open App store:
http://www.theverge.com/2012/4/13/2943141/android-no-permissions-app-gallery-security-issues

There are many ways these holes could be exploited in the wild. One implementation that comes to mind is a simple free calculator app, designed to launch the built-in browser to display the solution. While displaying the answer to 2 + 2, it could forward personal data to an external server, without permissions. The browser would continue sending data in the background until it was closed, unless a user navigated away from the page.

An example that has more scope to be damaging, however, would be to apply the data harvesting technique to an app with internet permission. Adding the code to a free game, for example, and masquerading the need for data as a high scores service, would allow the same data to be transferred without the need for an external browser. Google recently implemented a malware scanner that should be able to catch nefarious activity like this, but it's still a hole that shouldn't exist in the first place.

Sometimes, the walled garden is there for your own good.

Security scare of the week: What can an app with no permissions do?http://www.androidcentral.com/security-scare-week-what-can-app-no-permissions-do

Good info, but just last week's FUD (Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt)  I'm more worry about the trial that begins today with Oracle...

I am digging the new Google Books update...  the new UI improvement is now the same across the board.  Little things like the page turning animation really does make a difference, especially when trying to sustain the attention span of a three year old.

I need to read more, books; LH did a good article this morning on how to fit it into our busy lives...
http://lifehacker.com/5902606/how-t...nd-actually-finish-the-books-you-want-to-read

Really good tips; by far my favorite is still Audible Books for those times, when I just want to listen to my favorite Author read their own books.  But also in rediscovering Google Books - "Read Aloud" function, it's actually not that bad.  Considering if you can get past that robotic voice; the newer books don't sound too awkward.

There are as usual plenty of good free books in the Play store; books that I've always wanted to read, but now I get to...

I was cleaning out the closet last night, when I pulled my very old Winbook XL; I still remember buying this thing in 1997, or must have been 1998.  Was living in Long Beach at the time, and I shot down to Microcenter to pick the thing up.  The cost was over $3,500, I didn't get the extended warranty.

!BvnLYQwBWk~$(KGrHqJ,!h!Ev1+0DUPZBMFSi-HKEQ~~_3.JPG

I remember being so cool to run 200 MHz; on a Laptop!  With a CD and a floppy drive and one of the first laptops to have USB ports.  The screen is still so very thin and colorful; I inserted more RAM but I forgot how much, but I remember it being like another $300; I never upgraded the 2gig hard-drive, and I thought that that was a HUGE HD.

I lugged that thing around for while, being 10 pounds, I remember it always hurting my shoulders.  Running Windows 98; I would play those newly WinAmp MP3s all time of the day, watch VCD movies, and work on Office.

I love new tech, but the next best thing to new tech is old tech.  I love booting up a old piece of hardware and flexing it's muscles.  Then after a couple of hours and after the third or fourth headache, I remember why it is old and why I stopped using it.  None the less, I love the experience and I will be trying to figure out to see if I re-purpose the old thing to do something to justify the space that it is taking up.

Old tech also makes me appreciate new tech; the little htc literally runs circles around the laptop; it is about 5-times more powerful; 20 times more memory and it fits comfortably in my pockets.  Makes me stop and appreciate when the little guy is chugging away at a task; that is taking (like) forever.  Old tech never dies in the RC household, their souls always live on in one form or another.
