Hmm ok will have to check it out.  Qwerty had me at creamed corn.  How does it compare to Luger's in NYC (for those that have been to both)?

i would take mastros over Lugers. thought lugers was over rated. only been there once though.

Also...by comparison, what do you guys prefer:  Flemings, Mastro's, Ruth Chris, or Morton's.  There is also the Palm but I have not gone there.
I love Mastro's.  Fleming was also good when we went.  Haven't gone to the other two in awhile...Morton's is somewhat hit and miss.

For Irvine, go to Ruth Chris and order the filet:http://www.talkirvine.com/index.php/topic,2418.msg34564.html#msg34564

Be careful NOT to touch the plate with your fingers.

you guys are just nyc haters.

Peter Lugers was too far for me. My other NYC friends said that Wolfgangs (Park Ave location) was just as good, closer, and took credit cards.

Compared with Mastro's Newport, I would pick Mastro's for overall dining experience. The steaks might have been slightly better at Wolfgangs but the ambiance/view, menu variety, and service make Newport Mastro a better choice.  I do not miss the brusque NYC attitude from your steakhouse waiters.

Cut in BH is supposed to be excellent.

Cut is very good. They have some cheesy puff/bread things they serve for as part of your bread basket that are very tasty. Steaks are excellent as well. At the bar next door they have some Kobe sliders that are excellent and the eye candy that you buy, I mean look at at is top notch as well.
