BTW, someone climbed up my backyard wall and took pictures of my backyard this morning. This guy wears shirts and suits, does not seem like a regular construction person.
Does he look Korean?

No. White, bald.  HOA?

Could be David, our HOA manager?  He's been walking around inspecting courtyards.  I haven't seen him climb fences tho.  He's pretty tall, wears a white business shirt, and sunglasses right?

That's him! So why did he take pictures? I have materials piled up in the yard for landscape. does he think i start the construction without approval?

I don't know.  But you can call him.  He's pretty nice and responsive.

if it is any consolation, I had a neighbor's landscaper snooping around in my backyard smoking a cigarette. He was at the wrong address. I saw him through the dining area glass doors. I asked him what the heck he was doing. He apologized and left when I told him what address he was at.

I'd only be concerned if he wore a suit without a shirt.

Chairman missed out on free landscaping. So sorry to hear that.  You should keep a pack of cigarettes in the yard just in case he comes back.

Hello everyone,

We recently moved into a marigold home. It's good to see there's an active forum on TI for the community.

I see some construction guys are replacing shingles on quite a few homes. Does anyone know what the problem is?

The roofs are not fully completed until after you close escrow.  They need to make sure it's up to code before the city inspector comes to give final approval.

Welcome to Marigold!

Thanks, Zerolot,

These are homes with people already moved in, the ones on White Blossom. I'm wondering what could be wrong with the tiles that they are replacing them.

Also, I noticed quite a few slits/holes in the radiant barrier foil in my attic. Do you know if this is normal?

My tiles didn't get completely finished until a month after I moved in. They do that because they know they've got time.  City inspector reviews home in large batches and he only comes out when he has time.

I had several issues in my attic.  It was quite rushed and sloppy in there.  Check with Dan about that. I just went with the report given by my home inspector when I did my walk thru. I knew I wouldn't be able to understand all the defects on my own.

Thanks, will call Dan. I asked the construction guys this morning and they are replacing broken tiles. Apparently they already fixed our roof before we moved in.

Does anybody in Marigold start to have ants problems. I woke up this morning finding several black ants on the countertop. Then i put a Terro liquid bail and trapped a huge amount. There are a couple of ants trails around the outside wall. I am pretty sure my neighbor has the problem because some trails come across the wall cracks.

Any outside vents low to the ground?  My old detached condo's kitchen range vents out low to the ground.  Think that's where they come in.  Also check the French door seals that go out to the yard.  Irvine is one big anthill, not much you can do when the weather gets hot.  Keep open food off counter tops, but once they're in, they're in for good.

I don't know how they get in the house but i do find some holes in the outside wall which could be where the huge colonies are. Should i call professional pest service?

Do you have much luck with Terro?  I tried it a couple years back but they kept coming.

I found spraying the perimeter outside works the best.  I usually do it myself but this year I hired "Turn of the Century" to do it.  We had a good amount of ants, they sprayed 3 weeks ago and I haven't seen ANY ants inside yet which is good.  Did see a couple spiders though.

It comes with 2 month guarantee so if you see any ants or spiders inside they'll come back and re spray for free.  Probably will call them next week if I see more spiders inside but nice to be ant free now.
