@26: both clips look similar but its more of a Abdul Jabbar hook from the side along the baseline at 90 degree angle (body facing the basket baseline with right arm hook with head tilted towards basket...omg im describing too much...) hooks come in handy when you got a taller defender or someone with crazy hops on you...=)

 
Yeah, I tried to find a better clip of Marion, but its not a highlight play so its not really out there.  If you watched PHX back in the day or the Mavs now, you know what I mean.  But glad you are bringing back the classics.  I don't think I have the balls to do a hook shot on the baseline.  Too easy to become an airball! haha

Regarding basketball shorts, where can I get a wide selection of shorts in Irvine area?  I'm looking to buy one. 
Sports Authority?  Footlocker?

It's weird because their bball shorts have pockets... which at first I didn't like but now find very useful.

I agree, Sports Authority with those $10 off coupons is awesome. They also have $25 off 100 pretty often.  but not all) I also got an email yesterday saying they were having a 20% off sale.  Not sure of the details since I instantly deleted it since I didn't need anything.

The best place for Nike basketball shorts to be Mervyn's and I noticed Kohl's has a section but I haven't dug into it too much.  It was the same stuff as at the sports places but Mervyn's always had 25-30% off sales.  Disclosure: I haven't shopped for basketball shorts for a few years since I bought so many at Mervyn's, so things could have changed.  And yes, pockets are a must have!  Not for when you are playing but for everywhere else.
 
I donno if I'm sounding all picky or what not but, I'm looking specifically for And 1 brand shorts, and then maybe Nike Basketball next...

Sports Authority has a lot of BBall gear to choose from.

I like going to Target for there Champion selection.. They have tons of sale on shorts and jerseys.
 
I don't think Target carries IHO-sized shorts... which is why I go to Sport Authority.

And like 26inIrvine says... the $25 off $100 coupon that sometimes comes out is very handy... that's when I buy 2 pairs of shoes from SA.

@Homer: No money here... you're the one hitting 3s from beyond NBA distance. You'll never get a "free" shot from me again :) .

I may not be able to play this Saturday, but if I can, there is a covered court we play at when it rains... you guys will like it... pure FCB ballers there... but all old like me.

Do you know if the coupon can be used for other apparel?
Dick?s had a similar coupon but would not honor it for Under Armour workout gear.
It was only good for selected items and brands

  I have used Sports Authority multiple times, never had a problem when I brought things that were on the fine print.  They even let me do 2 consecutive orders back to back of $100 each so that I could use 25 off two times (I brought two coupons, so not sure if that mattered).

I don't really shop at Dick's cause i like Sports Authority better overall, but I did use them about a month ago when they had compression shorts 25% off.  I was a little nervous cause the $10 off coupon on them said can't be used for Nike Pro Combat, but they let it run through.  I think it varies from store to store how strict they are.
