landscaping question

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
I used Vasquez Landscaping (PM if interested for info, there happens to be a lot of Vasquez Landscapers!) and he was really good and honest. He even took out a huge tree stump by hand, w/o a machine. I swore it took at least 4 hours to do! The actual cost of landscaping your yard will depend if you need to replace your pipes/spinklers/valves. We bought an older home that had cracked pvc pipes, leaking valves, etc, so we did the whole thing. If not, you can estimate anywhere between $1.5-$2 bucks per sq ft for sod.

Artificial turf can get VERY hot on its surface.  Too hot for pets or kids to play on if it is in direct sunlight.

Good to know. I am leaning towards artificial turf since certain parts of my yard do not get direct sunlight..ever. Maybe the overheating issue won't be too much of a problem.

Bumping this. We have a small shaded section adjacent the house that would make for a perfect dog pee spot. Any one have experience with synthetic grass and dog pee? How well does it stand up?

A new synthetic grass store opened up on red hill, south of Valencia. If you are heading south on red hill you will see it on your right. Forgot the name but they have a big banner hanging over the front entrance. I have grass, thought about doing synthetic but never researched it.

Why not use real grass?  St Augustine is pretty hardy to dog pee, does require a decent amount of water though.

that looks really good. did your gardener install that or the lowes referral for installs (if they have one)?
