So what do your kids like right now?

In no specific order...

Legos, One Direction, Barbie, Skylander, Super Mario, stuffed animals, Pokemon (I thought that craze died) and for both of them... Minecraft.

Squinkies, goldens (shiny things), call me maybe, umizoomi (it's free on demand for UVERSE), EPL Tustin marketplace :), Modern Family, Winnie the Pooh bandaids

Mindcrap Minecraft big time. Srsly.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid books for the older one. Fly Guy books for the little one.

Not really a trend but strawberry-banana smoothies or slushees. On a shopping trip, I get the most peaceful 20 minutes of my life followed by one wild ride once the drinks run out.

1D. Taylor Swift. The Clique. Sonatina in G major (she is happy, she plays it, she is sad, she plays it, she is mad, she plays it, sort of like I don't want to talk about it, but parents, take note kind of note). Magic mirror- I think it's consulted a thousand times a day and still she looks like she lives in a zoo. Who is this kid in my house?? I still remember the "Winnie the Pooh" trending days when we were to be her side when Pooh got into trouble or else she would cry! Kicking. I mean it. I have told her that all doors and walls and stairs will be fixed from her college fund.

Family TV: Last Man Standing. I don't think we want to watch Modern Family with them just yet.

Umizoomi, (formerly Olivia, formerly Backyardigans), iPad anything, goldfish, applesauce, Romano's Spaghetti and Meatballs, Boo the stuffed dog, and kitty the stuffed car, his sandbox, Play grill, and hot wheels.

Homer, butt paste is your friend...

Skylanders Giants, Mike Trout, Build-a-Bear, JustDance4, fishing, Chima, and Lazy Dog Cafe.

(In admission of guilt, I hold the esteemed position of high score for the 1Dimension song on JD4. Because that's how I roll.)

Speaking of Just Dance, I was at Mission Viejo Mall and saw this 6 year old girl in front of the Microsoft Store dancing Gangam Style on the Kinect game like a champ... she knew the moves before the game showed them... it was hilarious.

You are dead to me.

Call me back in 8 years, brother.
You'll thank me.

So to go along with SoCal's Pet Peeve....

Rainbow Loom

And not just for girls, there are tons of boys into it to.

I was at a restaurant and there were 3 or 4 boys doing Rainbow Loom at a table... what the what?

In my 'hood, there is a lemonade stand after school on one of the corners on my way home... yesterday, instead of lemonade they are selling Rainbow Loom bracelets! [facepalm]

I thought he got over it but Pokemon is huge again. Sings almost every version of the song because he downloaded some app that has every theme song from the TV shows (even the Japanese version)... "Pokemaaaahhnnn... got to catch them all!"

And I really dislike this song, they are even playing it in regular rotation on Disney Radio:

Hey, Iho. Sick of cleaning up stray rubber bands yet?  :) I am. They unknowingly shot one into my dinner the other night and I very nearly swallowed it!

I've become Rainbow Loom proficient! I'm making their more complicated bracelets for them now. I feel kind of silly watching tutorials online done by 9 year old little girls... but, hey, they're very helpful.  :) I am having fun with it. I actually wore one to church on Sunday that they made for me and noticed I wasn't the only adult there wearing one.  ;)

That is too funny about the lemonade stands being re-purposed!

From my observation, it's not "boys". These kids are into sports, skateboarding whatever but they are also riding this trend.

Maybe it's a way for them to socialize with girls? The "common ground" technique?
