Is it me or are Irvine Paciific sales reps really arrogant and snooty? I thought it was just one bad seed but wifey and I have been searching for over a year now and have had several bad experiences with their customer service. Someone needs to give them some honest feedback. Terrible!! >:D >:D

I agree.  Customer service is the worst and I don't know what purpose most of them serve since they don't seem to know anything.  I've been put off by them also.  They are lucky these homes sell themselves. Basically, they are realtors that could not make it in the real world.  I doubt they would be making any sales otherwise.  You'd think TIC could hire some qualified people, or at least ones that were even civil.  (Not even expecting friendly--just civil would be nice.)  I've only had bad experiences with female reps.  These are the type of people that waiters spit in their drink and sneeze on their food because they are so nasty.  Frankly, I've had better service at Denny's--on a bad day.

Yeah, the general lack of cleavage has dampened my enthusiasm for model home tours lately.  :-*

Which ones made you so upset?

Are you Asian by chance?  Were the sales rep white?  I'm guessing that would be the scenario.  Not a good mix, especially in Irvine.

On behalf of my fellow gweilo, I extended our sincerest apologies to the good Asian people of Irvine.

AK:  Why do you say that?  Do you feel they are racist towards Asians?  That's not good considering the clientel base is largely made up of Asians...

lol IP sales... =_=... reminds me i walked in the other day to get a price sheet and i saw red envelopes on the table cept they were empty... lol... at least put a coin candy (those cheap ones u can get at 99 cent stores) in them for the kids or something... otherwise its meaningless might as well not have them at all on the table...

@dealcatcher

Do you mind explaining what happened?

I'd be here all day if I told you every incident I've had with them but to give you a couple of examples:

-Male salesman at Santa Maria in Stonegate was extremely rude to my mother and father in law that are close to retiring. They're in the market to buy a house and my mother asked him how much Mello Roose and HOA were and his response was to "read the brochure, everything is listed in there." Ridic!

Mother-in-law then mentioned that she's selling one of her rental homes and was just curious whether she'd have to pay taxes if she transfered it into a condo at their community. His response was "I don't know why you're asking me. That's a personal decision. Go ask a tax expert." Even if it was beyond his realm of expertise, he didn't have to respond that way. Totally unacceptable.

-This past Sunday, I brought my grandma into Cambria at Stonegate and the saleslady was a bit arrogant. It was more about her delivery then what she actually said that put us off. My grandma asked when the next phase would be available. The lady responded with "July. The first phase sold within 10 mins (arrogant snooty tone). You need to get on our waiting list. It's really long, full of serious buyers so you want to get on it as soon as possible. With how much interest we've received in the property,  I can't guarantee when one would be available for you."

These are just two of the many arrogant/rude/snooty experiences, I've had with Irvine Pacific reps. Like I said, we've been shopping around for over a year and have never had these experiences at any of the other builders (William Lyon Homes, New Home, KB, Shea Homes, Taylor Morrison, etc.)

@None:  I believe there is some level of racism, but I think it's more about how society functions overall.  As much as we like to talk about racial/social integration amongst the races, this is just "talk".  People vote with their actions and feet.  Irvine is a good example of that....Asians are moving in mass numbers and other races especially Caucasians are moving out in mass numbers. Irvine is not alone...everywhere you go specific races congregate amongst themselves (Latinos with Latinos, Asians with Asians and Caucasians with other Caucasians).  So going back to IP, if your buyers are nearly 90% Asian, then it would make sense to for Sales Reps. to be majority Asians as well.

Sorry to hear your bad experience. For one reason or another, sometimes people fail to show professional courtesy. You have a valid reason to write to TIC directly about these incidents and see how the mgmt would respond.

But are they heeded? Doubtful with all these "long" waiting lists. Bleh.

The supposed "long" waiting lists are always full of uncommitted/non-serious buyers. The reason being is that there's no cost to get on the list. It's a marketing tactic that builders like Irvine Pacific often use. The honest builders will say, "while the waiting list is long, there are around 5 people that I know for a fact are very interested in buying soon." I've heard that from a builder before. This was the builder I decided to buy from. ; )

For me, customer service goes a long way. Even if some of the Irvine Pacific properties are doing well, there are others that aren't (e.g. Laguna Altura). I just think if they work on the customer service a bit, they could make more money than they're already making right now. That should be enough to get them to listen.

I've actually had great experience with IP... They have always been courteous and all smiles to me and my family.  :-\

the sales probably do... but i doubt anybody in IP thats actually worth their weight in salt reads the boards...

i mean cmon... red envelopes? i was actually kind of offended... they arent a decoration piece ok?  they symbolize u giving away ur wealth so that the ppl ur giving them to dont age or try to halt them from aging and getting old... catch is wealth... its meaningless if they are empty... srsly put symbolic money candy in there or just remove them all together...

if ur desperate for asian decoration pieces then put a upside down red spring symbol on the table instead... no asians gonna be offended by that at least...

i dunno man, but least in my family, empty red envelopes lying around is such a taboo...

=__= ;;  their asian consultants need to be fired man...

So of them are pretty snooty but many of them worked for other builders in the past.

but i think my funniest experience is van deale homes... one of the santa cruz units had a old school chinese "toilet" in the living room... some designer thought it looked like a asian lookin stool n thought it would look good next to the coffee table... gave me an image of someone taking a shit in the living room... haha that one gave me a good chuckle...

I want to hate on IP as much as the next person, but I think it's all perception.  You want to think their evil so you take everything they say in a negative context.  I've been to every community multiple times and never has anyone been rude to me.  Yeah they may be a little pretentious but they've always been polite to me.

Look at it from their end.  What if you get 50 angry customers constantly trying to test your patience.  You'd have a breaking point too where you just don't give a f**k.

But yes I rather lean on the I don't like IP Sales reps too...they are full of BS.
