Ok, zovall, I know you worked real hard on the upgrade, but I absolutely hate it.
I can't figure out how to get back to the main blog from a thread. What was wrong with the tabs at the top?
Where did the colors go?
Where did the thank yous go?
Why do we not get one word of explanation of how this now works.
I like the way ALL the threads were shown and how they popped to the top. Why was this eliminated? Is it available still somehow?
I think this will drive away newbies. I would have never posted with this arrangement, and maybe that's no great loss, but I think this will drive away computer illiterates like me who have a thing or thousand to say about real estate.
I don't even like how the icons are on the side instead of the top.
How come you didn't ask any of us what we thought before messing around with this?

Why is looking "professional" the goal of this blog or any blog? And please explain how this version looks more professional than the old one. As long as everything is formatted properly, the writing is worth reading, the colors match, and the font and styling is pleasant, its professional enough for me. Too many websites try to update themselves to look like a corporation made them...I never understood that.
I am all for software upgrades and improving functionality but this format really takes away from the community. I think this format provides the ability to grow into a huge forum like AVS or flyertalk but not sure it is the right time to make that change.

Yeah, I'm trying to give the new forums a pass until I get more used to it, but I prefer the old one as well. It looked cleaner and I liked the way all the forums with new posts were identified by color and following the link would take you to the first new post you haven't read yet.
The new IHB forums are pretty standard style/format-wise imho. Very similar to other forums I've been on actually - old users are probably more bothered by the changes since we've grown accustomed to some of the niceties of previous system. The new system does seem to have a lot of new features and better browser support though.
Well, I'll keep plunking away and see how it grows on me. Like someone mentioned earlier, the community and quality posts are what keeps us coming back here. I imagine those things won't change.

Thanks for your efforts in this blog. I'm happy to say that I remember the good old days before we even had tabs. The participation and effort ofthe forum members (especially those such as Graphix, IrvineRenter, Ipoplaya, etc) have been of tremendous help to me as I get closer to my purchase. Keep up the great work.

Looks like everyone got a new avatar ( or couldn't find their old one) after the upgrade.
I was kinda used to the old ones, I guess the upgrade didn't carry them over.
