IHB Garage Sale

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program

Since IHB is local in nature it would be really cool if you can post up something that you don't use anymore and would like to sell it. I know that there will be many renters who are going to buy a home in the next couple of years. Someone like myself who plans to move to Irvine from out-of-state probably would not want to buy everything brand new, especially in this economy. With the economy going south the way it is, I think it would be really cool if we start our own localized IHB version of craigslist. If i am planning on buying a used Flat screen TV or a baby stroller (in the future) I would probably feel a lot more comfortable buying from a IHB member than a random person on Craigslist or eBay.

Post up a picture, description, and price of the item that you may be selling, if anyone is interested they will PM you. Paypal is super easy to set up.

Items you may sell can include:

1) Flat screen TV that you may not need

2) King/Queen Size Bed

3) Furniture sets

4) Baby Stroller/Bed

5) Cars

6) Office Desk

7) Bikes

8) Computers/Printer/Servers

9) Lights

10) Mirrors

11) etc. (Anything you don't need anymore and would like to sell.)

I don't know. You might want to get permission from zovall first or a moderator since this could also welcome spam. That is why when I didn't need my ice box anymore I offered it for free - so it didn't open the door for spammers looking to make a buck. Just a thought.

Good point Socal, I did not think about outside SPAMMERS. Obviously I wouldn't want start anything that Zovall wouldn't approve of. But, don't you think this idea would be a pretty cool if we didn't have all the SPAMMERS, but a trusted blogger selling to another a trusted blogger within Irvine? I mean I would totally buy something from IPO. You can check out the merchandise with just a 5 minutes drive. It would be like a Virtual Irvine Garage Sale.

Keep dreaming fool.

You could never afford to buy it.

Besides, I?ve already promised it to the Smithsonian.

Like the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, my bedroom set is a national treasure.

It seen more action than Vegas the night before the Super Bowl.

Sure, I think it's a good concept. Maybe they could make a separate "Classifieds" section. I wonder if there's a way to keep spammers out .... maybe find a way to limit it to users who have a certain number of posts.

Man... PANDA called your bedroom junk... those are fighting words. My money is on PANDA... they know kung-fu.

P.S. I got so much "treasure" cluttering up my garage... PANDA is welcome to it (it's mostly kid toys... but not the kind IPO peddles).

Excuse ME???

Intense irvine_home_ower! We may all have slanted eyes, but certainly not all of us know kung-fu.

"Well take a picture of your treasure and post it up, Panda may buy."

Perhaps, I should of named the title of this thread, "What do you want to give away for FREE?"

We could start with a single dedicated thread and if there is enough going on we can set up a Classifieds forum. If spammers become a problem, we'll figure something out - the min number of posts is a good idea.

Methinks you haven't watched the movie voiced by Jack Black... yet you use his avatar.

I just sold one of my garage sale items, a barely used Britax car seat, to bv and his lovely wife.

They got a $175 car seat for a massive discount and I didn't have to deal with every hack on Craigslist. It was a win-win for both of us...

This is one of Panda's few good ideas! :)

Are you selling your eco-friendy medicinal green house?

After many failed attempt of engineering a bed with bed frame resisting extreme lateral forces Ten has finally perfected his chick throne made of solid reinforced concrete foundation, solidly grouted and heavy mortared with easy maintainance polished porcelain tile seamlessly integrated with flooring and walls for those tough stains everywhere.

It is equipped with side view mirror for those blind spot maneuvering and difficult moves.

2 boom box speakers for the magnifying stereo surround sound from his conquests.

Beer and romance is available at just arm length away.

Such invention is well deserving to be housed in the museum

I'd be happy to post our 3 Britax seats here if we ever grow out of them. I know these years are supposed fly by, but at times they can seem to be dragging on and on. Oh, to just get into a car and go again. Not really :-P complaining though.

OK,

Panda is going to get this party started. First of all this is NOT a REAL AD so please do not PM me as these sofas are NOT FOR SALE! :). Just an example to show all of you how easy it is to get a classified ad up and how easy it is to participate. I just took a photo in my house of our three piece sofa set and put something simple together in 5 minutes. You don't need photoshop, just upload a picture and just type regular text on the forum. Good luck everyone and remember, Panda is always looking for a good deal.

If anyone is interested, PM me... I am starting to unload our excess corporate gear.
