If you lease from private party, what happens when you break the lease?

What happens if the lease is up but the landlord has not sent the renewal and I have not asked for renewal? Can I move out at the end of the month without giving a full 30 days notice assuming there is no deal, or am I obligated to give a full 30 day notice still?



If I give a notice on 1st day of the month, is the 30 day notice until 30th day or 1st of the next month? Thank you.

You are obligated to give your landlord a 30-day notice prior to moving out if you are going month-to-month. If you give notice on then 1st then you can move out at the end of that same month.
