"it keeps me happy knowing that these idiots can't possibly put these shread back together".

Yep, Bix. I did a search warrant on a meth pad about 5 years ago and inside on the coffee table was just such a situation. The paperwork (bank statement) was about half done and the trash bag was sitting on the floor next to the table. It hadn't been shredded, just ripped up by hand and this tweeker had nothing else to do during his 72 hr. binge....and there were some tiny pieces to this document. Tweekers stay up for days at a time and fidget with little projects that they usually never finish (fixing t.v.'s, stereos, car engines, etc.). Dumpster diving for financial documents is a favorite...stealing mail is another....so get a locking mailbox.

Zov, make sure it's a cross-cut shredder....the basic single cut ones don't do a good enough job. And if you all don't want to buy one, and you insist on ripping stuff up by hand...try and place half of the ripped up document in one trash bag and the other half in another. They will actually steal a whole bag and sort through the thing...gross, but true.
