Contract is still on and MAY BE extended until Decemeber from what I've heard the past few days. A part of me already had one foot out the door. lol I'm out in Monterey Park for this week and next week and they have a computer lounge for the employees/contractors so I'm using a part of my lunch time to browse IHB...I'm just a IHB addict. It feels sooooo good to get my fix of IHB during the day. haha

Girl friend hunting this week? I suggest getting some advice from our resident expert CK. He know all the right hang outs in SGV.

Don't tempt me because I do have a few hours to kill to let traffic die down and I wanted some more options than going to Commerce Casino to play some poker. haha

A good lender, a good property inspector, a good title officer, and a good escrow officer (all of them in the minority) are worth their weight in gold!

Not quite, more like going up to the bank's file storage area and pulling many, many files of downgraded commercial real estate loans. We don't even have windows!

No wonder we are in this mess. Banks just threw those toxic loans in some dungeon, shut the door, and hoped they would never get out.

BTW, I'm just picturing you sulking in some cellar all day with no IHB. You probably can't even get a signal to use an i phone. Poor T.

I did it!! I got my keys to the Coldwell Banker Irvine office last night and I'm off to the OCAR office today.

Mission Begun! =D

Coldwell? Heh... IR2 is CB also... but the Tustin office.

Good luck.

[quote author="mssunshyn" date=1251760007]Good Morning Everyone!

I need some help and advice from all you pros out there. I have a full time career outside real estate but real estate has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I finally decided to follow my heart and I took all the necessary classes to qualify me to take the Broker?s exam - I have a bachelor?s degree so I didn?t need the two years sales person experience. Happily, I passed on my first attempt. But now I?m at a loss as to how to actually get started. I am extremely intelligent and hard working and I?m driven to be very, very successful (why do I suddenly feel as if I?m writing a singles ad and not a real estate forum post? Haha!). I?m not sure if I should try to go it all on my own or attempt to get a job with an established brokerage first. The whole point of getting my Broker?s license was so I could be my own boss and keep my own commissions, but now I wonder if I should get some brokerage experience first. If you do think I should sign on with a brokerage, do you have any suggestions of good ones? Any contact names? If I work for someone, I want to work for the best. What type of commission split should I expect? I am aware that this is not the best of times for the real estate profession but I feel like this is what I am truly meant to do. Thanks for taking the time to read this and for your advice.</blockquote>

Late to answer any of your questions, but hey, congratulations!

I am thinking of going the same route. Looks like every other person will soon have a license;-)

Thanks! I paid my dues to OCAR at lunch and got my key. Now I just need to do something with it. ;-)

Thanks IHO. It was funny, as I was leaving OCAR I walked out at the same time as this other lady. I mentioned to her how I was excited since I had just joined and was excited to begin in this field of work. She asked where I would be working and I told her Coldwell. That did not seem to elicit the best response from her. I have no idea what that was about but I guess I'll learn soon enough. In any case, at least she wished me good luck before she took off.

That already happened during the boom.

This year, I'm sure more people have stopped doing RE than started.

I want to get a license... but I'm too lazy.
