Halloween Treats for Kids

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
I want to bake a bread today- lets see, if I don't have to go in for work later in the day, I might get my bread machine out and make the house smell appetizing.

Panettone is my favorite to bake, I alter the recipe to suit my whole wheat/ brown sugar needs, but I use this as a guideline:http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Panettone-Loaves/Detail.aspx?prop24=RD_RelatedRecipes

My coffee recipe is a little different- can't have a machine do the whole thing for me. After I get the 'coffee' out of the press, I add it to the hot-scalding milk, and give it a boil before pouring in the cup. Also, I use the frother to froth it up- every frother I buy breaks in six months though!

Back to Halloween, I am planning to keep slow cookers with hot chocolate and apple cider for the little ones that walk the neighborhood in cold..

Good/bad? SoCal- need your two cents.

Yeah... stuff that's not wrapped or sealed is a no-go nowadays.

One stop last year... they ran out of candy and the girl offered us cookies... she even showed us the package they were going to open so that we could trust the treats.

What a world we live in now.

I hope this helps those who may want to make something but don't know what. You can do this even if you went through the drive-thru and bought your kids french fries.

Making Spider Web Ketchup for Dummies (as pictured on page 1 of this thread):

Squirt some ketchup into a bowl.

Put a dot of mustard in the center. Draw 2 or 3 rings of mustard around it - however many will fit.

Find a toothpick. Put it in the center. Drag it out towards the side of the bowl. Lift out. Wipe off the toothpick. Repeat in all directions.

There you have it.

What are you guys making tonight?

I'm doing the Mummy dogs with Spiderweb ketchup again (pictured earlier in this thread from last year). But this time I'm also trying 2 new things! -- A couple things that have been floating around on Pinterest. I'll just say more mummies and a Frankenstein were added to the mix this year. I don't want to give too much away yet until I post pics later... that is, if anybody wants to see them. I was working very hard on these until late last night!!! I'm exhausted !! But I hope they will be enjoyed.

Mummy juice boxes.

The other thing involves crushed cookies that I have to wait to assemble so they don't get soggy. More pics later.

Frankenstein Pudding Cups.

I've named them: Homer, Tyler Durden, and Iho. In that order. (Qwerty and Trojan are in the fridge.)
