The hardest thing about buying Girl Scout cookies is the wait.
The anticipation builds every week after you order your favorite box of Lemonades, Thin Mints and Peanut Butter Patties. Typically, from the time you order in late January, it takes about 3 to 4 weeks to get your cookies.
But in 2010, the wait will finally be over for some customers.
In Orange County and parts of Southern California, some troops are planning to provide cookies as soon as you order them. Locally, the direct sales program, dubbed Cookies Now, begins Jan. 23, said Gail Ellis-Olds, a spokeswoman for the Girl Scout Council of Orange County.
