Jmoney - i did a quote through the California Earthquake Authority

http://www.earthquakeauthority.com/RateCalcHomeowner.aspx?edate=12&pid=3&vchoice=Y

the lowest i could get was about $600 per year.  i selected coverage of 450K (read somewhere they will cover the assessed value not market value), deductible of 15% with no other coverage (loss of use, personal property inside the house). how were you able to get the $150/year premium? do you use safeco for other insurance as well where you got a bundle discount?

thanks.

I also selected a coverage of $450K with 15% deductible,  personal property coverage limit of 5K, loss of use coverage limit $1500. Was quoted $155 per year!

what zip code did you use? i used 92782

Damn it is the zipcode. I used 92618 and it came back at $155

92620, which I think is woodbury is $658.

Shit, bad enough I live next to Santa Ana and on toxic land and then I get raped on earthquake insurance.

That's ur problem. All the cool kids are 92618.

Yep, 92618 all the way!

Trying to put two and two together.  During the disclosure process, Lennar informed me that there are no fault lines in the area.  Not sure how that differs from the zip code that is only 2 min away but who knows.  I bundle my insurance through SafeCo.

haha ya i noticed the same thing.  I'm moving from Woodbury to PP so first I put in my Woodbury zip and thought "crap that's expensive", then put in my new PP zip and voila, moneysaver.

PP need's a break on something with all the MR's, don't complain too much :)

this makes no sense.  woodbury east is ~$200 while woodbury is $800.  how can crossing one street change the premiums that much?

any woodbury folks get EQ at a more affordable rate?  $200 would be a no brainer

Yea not sure how very little distance can cause that big of a jump.
