I should organize one of those someday.

I'll call it the Irvine Garage and Driveway Tour.

That would be a very quick tour. Most homes lack even the driveway.

Here is the flyer.

[quote author="bkshopr" date=1239674003][quote author="SoCal78" date=1239672998]BK, is your tour on the 25th or 26th? I would like to attend and might bring a friend but it will depend on which day & time. Thank you.

25th (Sat) or unless other IHBERs insist 26th (sunday)

What time on Saturday, BK?

Also, are we making this an Adventure Club event? If so, I will set that up for you as soon as you have the details like where we are meeting or do you want your meeting spot private?

Has anyone bought their tickets yet?

Sorry for the 20 questions.

Thanks Socal. I will have answer by tonight. You are a good coordinator.

Thank you. I am an expert at nagging. I have many years of experience. Just ask my husband. :)

[quote author="caycifish" date=1240023220]If we are going on a private tour with BK, what is the need for a ticket? Or am I just confused?

It looks like according to the site, tickets are $25/each for pre-order, will-call. This price seems to be good until Monday if you're using Paypal. (Click button to pay in order to view price.) If you buy them the day of the event, they are $30 at the entrance. Here is more info including a map.

Edit: Oh, I don't know. I assumed we have to pay and BK's narrative would just be extra icing on the cake at no additional charge. ;-) Maybe he can clarify.

There will be 7 homes and several gardens on the tour. I am not affiliated with the tour staff. My home will have many docents and a ticket collector. No ticket no in. I do not have enough power to get visitors in for free. I can only provide the narrative to make the tour more informative. Imagine me like the headset that you rent at the art museum.

[quote author="caycifish" date=1240029985]Okay, buying our tickets now. Keep us posted on the time/place to meet up with the IHB crowd.

Sweet! Now I can say I have pee'd in BK's urinal!

Count me in...

Here are some options:

1. We meet at Corner's Bakery at Cityplace at 12:00 for lunch and then drive over to park at the Rancho Santiago College District parking lot and walk across the street to Floral Park.

2. We meet after lunch 1pm at the Ticket booth (Victoria and Santa Clara).

See earlier posted link for parking direction.

The tour will conclude at my courtyard below the avocado tree. I want to thank SoCal for the coordination of this event.

Thank you, BK. Well, how many hours do you need and what time would you like to conclude? I think I saw someone mention 2-4 hours needed. The tour officially ends at 4 pm. Is it usually very packed?

Also, I was wondering what do people usually do for restrooms on this long tour? (Besides garage urinal, please.)

The tour may take up to 3 hours to go through 7 homes and several gardens. Toward the end of the day as the crowd thin out we can conclude at my home where hopefully then would be less people. The committee elected to turn my courtyard into the mid point refreshment zone because it is the most inviting and sited properly away from harsh sun.

The urinal was a Graph joke Mrs BK would divorce me had I installed one in the garage. I think there will be portable potties along Victoria. Neighbors antique cars and vendors will be on display there as well.

Be sure to apply sun screen and insect repellent.
