Flipping Out

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
[quote author="Anon." date=1210897360]The new season starts on June 17th. From what I've read online, he's hurting a bit - he's got several flips that haven't sold and, in order to get some income, he's been doing property renovations instead.

Ouch, that's gotta hurt.. so that's what they meant on the commercial about Jeff having a boss to deal with.

I have it TIVO'd it was recording both the Celtic Slaughtering the Lakers and Flipping Out. I guess I should have watched flipping out instead of flipping out myself... :(

My fiance loves this show. Should I be worried he totally identifies with the Flipping Out guy. I always tell him "honey please don't tell people that." I also love the over-the-top rants "Travertine? Travertine? Geez, have these people opened up a magazine in the past 10 years?"

I just watched the show. Jeff didn't disapoint - he had some doozies. :-) I try to get my husband to watch the show so he'll know that there are other OCD people in the world besides me. And Jeff puts me to shame!

Wow, i can't watch that. He's such a PITA i'd HAVE to walk away.

He has great taste and spend qutie alot of money on his homes, I think he's limiting himself to expensive homes. It seems to work for him, but its not ideal though.

good luck

Jeff does AMAZING work! I question some parts of the "reality" aspect... I know most "reality" shows are not all that they are said to be. For example, Jenny (his assistant) and her husband actually pitched a different show to some networks. Her husband, Chris is an actor. Not sure if that effects the show, or if it is really what it seems to be? Either way, Jeff has a great eye, and although totally arrogant and OCD, does fabulous work!

My GF just started watching this show and she loves it. I think it is interesting but there is something about the one-on-ones with the camera that bug me about him. But then that is me being superficial. Anyone else notice anything weird...

I think overall it is a good show. Where else can you find people saying, "make my drink 130 degrees, wait 160 degrees so when it comes back here it will be 130degrees" haha

The staff he?s got working for him is horrendous.

No wonder Jeff has so many meltdowns.

I like the fact that he?s a perfectionist and stickler for details.

It?s a big part of why he?s so successful.

He even admitted he lost $200k by being greedy on the Ben Lomand house.

Glad to see this season he added an S Class into his stable, in addition to the Range Rover.

Can't wait for Slade and Jo's show Date My Ex.

I have never seen this show, but I DVR'd whatever episode came on at midnight last night. I will check it out this weekend. Ten I really hope you arent a fan of Jo.

Don?t worry I?m not.

The Date My Ex show looks funny.

You?ll like Flipping Out, Jeff is hilarious.

I'm just glad that in between seasons Jeff finally started pronouncing "Ben Low-mund" correctly, and not "Ben La-mawnd". Just like it snaps me when folks call our port city "San Paydro". I don't care that it is not proper Spanish pronunciation. Everyone who lives there calls it "Peedro" so it is Peedro.

Obviously it's time to take my own OCD meds. Have a good weekend, gang.

Alright, I've seen a couple now. The one where hes the "expert" for that girl on the 1911 house and she forgets she gave him permission about the contractor and yells at him. Then I saw the following one.

While he is OCD and a jerk, it sounds like he was much much more of a jerk in season 1. While he does like having power and all, I'm glad he doesn't seem too arrogant or conceited. That is what would drive me crazy more, but I guess we never do see his personal life? Or does he not have one and his work is his life?

And just curious, what is the job of that other guy that works in the office ? I cant remember his name, but hes the one that seems alot calmer and spends most of his time just trying to keep the main guy from blowing up.

Also, is his assistant and the "house assistant" married? Did I catch that right? Good idea to keep them in seperate working environments.

24, yes Chris, "The Trash Guy" and Jenni, are married. The other guy is Jeff's business partner....they are ex-boyfriends. Doubt you'll see much of Jeff's "personal life"....he dates someone who is also on television. (remember everyone, I work a side job in his neighborhood).

I just watched the most recent Tivo'd episode. Laughed out loud when Zoila wanted to take her birthday weekend off, and Jeff said, "I'm sorry, your birthday just isn't working with my schedule".

This season is a lot better than last.

Nice little bit of info from Your Mama at the Real Estalker: Caution..... spoiler alert.

Great show. While most flipper shows are obnoxious, for some reason this is really entertaining. I take it for what it's worth and Jeff might be too much for some but I'm sure most is for the camera. I think working with/for him would atleast get you lots of good experience. It's too bad the second season is already over. With only like 6 episodes? Well that's probably the end of the series since the market is pretty much done everywhere. I believe the only way to do the show going forward would be to buy really beat up repos, but not sure it's worth his time and money, unless Bravo starts to foot the bill as part of the show's budget. I will miss that show, it was pretty unique and the personalities were great.

Don't forget the reunion show this Tuesday.

NorCalJeff, saying that the market is over is a big mistake. Big. I'm going to need you to get me 2, no 4 avocados from the neighbors' yard. Zoila has graciously agreed to make us some guac.
