Rivian R2 debut:

Also showed R3 and R3X.

Starting price for R2 is $45k.
2026 delivery.... Tech changes within the next 2 yrs may make the car an outdated model, and that assumes Rivian can still be a viable company by then. It's like a deposit on a Tesla Roadster - a mirage, at best.

The R2 coming in 2026, wonder how the price and range will be compared to others as technology gets better over the next couple years. Could be better/cheaper EVs out or maybe not.

Range Rover EV coming:

Given the systemic reliability issues Rovers are famous for, I'd be very cautious as a 1st gen buyer. As it's been said before: "The only reason why the English have never built a electric vehicle is because they couldn't figure out how to make it leak oil."

Technically... the Jaguar I-Pace is their first foray into EVs.

Everyone will have growing pains... even Toyota... their BZ4X wheels were falling off.

Not to be outdone by Range Rover... G-Wagon EV:

Who will weigh more?

Hummer EV (about 5 tons or 2.5 Model 3's)

Range Rover EV (3.8 tons ICE, EV-TBD)

Mercedes EV. (3 tons TBD Estimated)

My guess is the Hummer EV will continue to outweigh any passenger car on the road, but the G-Wagon might come pretty close.

Imagine what a RR Cullinan EV (3 tons ICE) will come in at....

Not a desirable feature for a supposed “off road” vehicle 🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂😂🦄🌈

These vehicles are trailer queens, never to see any more dirt on them that a quality detailer can't take off in a single wash.

Terrible on the asphalt and tires of course, and God bless any souls these heavyweights happen to T-Bone, but hey, they're doing their part to combat climate change so we're good AMIRITE?

Looks pretty good... they went with full LED light bars on front and back.

I still like the other choices out there more. I want to see bigger EVs are more truck formats.

The redesign looks more modern but has Chinese knock-off vibes.

I believe the Macan is built on their new EV platform (shared with the Audi Q6) so that means 800v architecture which is even faster DC charging than your Taycan.

Great choice.

The Taycan charges pretty fast at EA fast charging stations, I would see 240-260kw charging speeds up to 50%. The new EV platform for Porsche has a larger and more efficient battery. I get about 240 miles based upon a full charge in the Taycan and I've heard that people are getting 300-320 miles with the Macan EV.

Macan EV looks awesome. I don't think people who drive gas cars on the daily realize how inconvenient going to the gas station can be. An EV is definitely fantastic for a commuter car.

If I had my dream stable, I'd have an EV for every day driving/commuting, a 911, and *maybe* a gas/hybrid larger car for road trips. Though with some of the larger batteries these days it's less an issue unless road tripping to the boonies.

Right now we just have an Arteon and a Tesla.
