Congratulations! It takes a little time with one pedal driving especially when switching back and forth between ICE and EV.

What did you think of Tesla's delivery process?
I anticipated that I would have some questions, so I decided to go pick it up. I did have a lot of questions. The reps were helpful. I don't know if the person who would deliver the car would be able to answer questions.

My wife wasn't impressed, though. She was like, "How come there was no one there rolling out the red carpet for us?" 🤣
 
Picked up my Model 3 today. Apparently, there's only one-pedal mode now. You can choose between "Hold", "Rolling" and "Creeping", but once you let go of the gas pedal, it will slow down drastically. Still trying to get used to that. And all the damn controls too. 😒

I am still waiting for my model y long range. Preordered it since June but estimated delivery date is in December.

Performance model y wouldve had shorter wait time but the ride quality is harsh.

Thanks. I just got the base one. Performance is too expensive. Not worth it. I ordered back in March. Was supposed to get it in May, but got delayed all the way until now.

It's too bad because we could have sold our 2016 Honda Fit for a much higher price before. Used car inventory is starting to flood the market now, so we only ended up getting $16k for it. I checked with KBB and it said trade-in value was $18,800 with the range of $17,900 to $19,700. Carmax would only give $14k. So I tried the KBB cash offer option and it gave $17,550, with 2 participating dealers: Nissan of Irvine and RSM Honda.

When I took it to Nissan for inspection, they did a search within 50 miles and said the current auction market is only $14k. KBB changes their algorithm every two weeks or so, so the price KBB gave me was outdated, Nissan said. So I ended up taking it to RSM Honda for inspection and they offered me $16k. I think they were able to make a higher offer because they're pre-own dealer. So I just took that deal.
 
Rented a PHEV Chrysler Pacifica while family is in town. Just charging using a Level 1 120V but it's pretty cool to reduce gas consumption and the low-end torque is acceptable for a car of this size. Even though charging takes forever, it easily covers trips around town. I wish there was more competition in the minivan space!
 
My M3 Performance is rated at 305 mi, 270 at 70 mph. We went to St. Helena on a full charge from the Powerwall and back on Saturday (~240 mi round trip) and pulled into our driveway with 12% remaining. Having autopilot was really nice to stay centered in the lane and at the speed limit with all the cops out looking for DUI victims. Highly recommend the beer tasting at Mad Fritz Brewing.

Hope your M3 is not 2022-2023 model because that kidney grill is just butt flugly. What the hell is wrong with BMW designers nowadays?
 
Since the Cybertruck is still a ways off, perhaps one might want to consider one of these...


My personal choice would be the VW ($199k....) or to look at a Jaguar E-Type Convertible that's been retrofitted. Not sure how the VW would pass today's safety standards. The moment you get into a front crash, bionic legs are about your only option - assuming you survive the crash.

Might as well wait for the 2023 VW ID Buzz--not as retro cool looking but has modern safety standards/tech for a quarter of the price.
 
Tesla offering $7500 discount and 10k SuperCharging miles on cars delivered before Jan 1.

All the lower priced Ys and 3s in SoCal are gone but there are quite a few $60k range ones.

Also new IRA credit battery requirement possible delayed until March 2023.
 
The price increases on based M3 were the least, which is why they're all gone. It increased twice for $3k after I ordered mine, so it's a lot cheaper than mine. I think the M3LR increased maybe $5-$7k, so it's mostly only the super charging for free.
 
Snagged one of those lower priced Model Y LR, ordered Tuesday, got VIN assigned Thursday and will take delivery (Barranca location) next week.

With the discount, was around $59k before tax/title/reg. Also sales tax is on the discounted price which is nice.

Went to Fashion Island location today and they said the same that most all 3s and Ys are sold out in OC, more in LA and SD though.

I really wanted to wait to see what happens with prices Jan 1. If they keep the $7,500 credit + tax credit eligibility I’ll be a bit annoyed but can’t wait forever and you never know what the next price change is going to be.
 
Question for those of you that purchased a new car recently. Do dealers still give you a temporary registration card (like the one they used to tape onto your front windshield in the old days)? Or are those no longer required after they started the temporary paper plates?

For Tesla Model Y, they gave me both. Temp plate on front windshield with temp registration card and a temp plate attached to back license plate. My back plate flew off yesterday driving to SD, stopped by Tesla SC and they printed me a new plate with 2 new screws. There was another customer with same issue. If you take delivery of new car, make sure these screws are tightened.
