How big's the yard?  Do you really need weekly service?  As for the cleaning lady, $95 sounds pretty good, especially if you got to scrub toilets.

$95 for a house cleaner?? That's damn cheap, how many sqft is your place??
I don't live in a mansion like you. It's only a 4br/3ba. And that's per visit (so twice a month is almost $200).

Not very big (I do live in Irvine) and we can get away with twice a month (we did before and when we switched, it had been 4 weeks between guys and it was still okay). It's just that I like a manicured lawn look and prefer to have the leaves and stuff cleaned up weekly. The backyard is only a small patch of grass, it's mostly hardscape.

When I was looking around, our neighbors' guy was $50/mo for every week but then I could never get a hold of him and I didn't want to keep asking our neighbors for his info (asked them twice). Other guys were like $75 or higher (those were 2-3 man crews).

My only issue with this guy is he comes on Mondays, I would prefer a Friday yard service.

Really?  I pay $80 for 4 beds/3 bAths. My guy comes with 1 to 3 helpers. Takes about 2 hours depending on how many ppl he shows up with.
Yeah... I think mine is overpriced. She does it as a side job (so not a company, no licensing etc) but she's a referral from a friend and can be trusted. Our old cleaner wasn't very good, broke a few things and feigned ignorance.

I wonder how much qwerty pays for his cleaner..

we dont have one right now. used to pay $65 for 1400 sq ft single story home with 3 beds, two baths. would take 2-3 hours to clean every two weeks. we provided all cleaning supplies. it was always pretty clean since there were no kids in the house - the bathrooms were pretty small as well, nothing like a new construction master bath. so at 3 hours it was almost 22/hour for one person. at 2 hours it was about 32/hour.

Just had our house cleaned by a maid for the first time, it was $200 for the initial visit, two cleaning ladies from 8-2, it was initially $150 but then we got offered $50 to clean the windows as well.  We thought it was a good deal.  The lady also cleans at least two of my neighbors for many years, so it was a fairly easy vetting process.  After the initial visit deep cleaning, each visit will be $70 for 5 bed/4 bath house.  Bought them breakfast and lunch.  Windows weren't streak free/OCD clean but for $50, it was a no brainer.  Had them use our vacuum instead of theirs.  Prepping for the maids took a lot of work as well, another incentive to having a cleaning service:  you end up de-cluttering monthly in order to get the most bang for the buck for your $70!
