akula doesn't realize they are quoting morekaos who is quoting an opinion article. That's like citing Twitter... oh wait... akula does that too.

Haha... and digging deeper...

The narrative is definitely falling apart. Let's see what bad things the ignorant fool IHO can say about John Hopkins.

Who got fooled here? Marty Makary didn't even conduct a John Hopkins study... he's a professor there, also a Fox News guest and anti-vax.

Here I can do the same thing and debunk Marty Makary:
https://fair.org/home/the-dangerous-misuse-of-natural-immunity-against-covid-vaccination/

He's such an expert that he predicted the US would already have herd immunity a while ago:

Makary?s June Journal article is especially fascinating, since he published another Journal op-ed in February (2/18/21) containing fantastical predictions that the US would achieve ?herd immunity? by April, which is obviously wrong, since here we are in December, without herd immunity (as experts predicted at the time). The Journal could have chosen not to publish Makary again after his ridiculous prediction failed, but not only did it continue to give him a platform, it also allowed him to lie further by claiming the US had already achieved herd immunity in June:

With more than 8 in 10 adults protected from either contracting or transmitting the virus, it can?t readily propagate by jumping around in the population. In public health, we call that herd immunity, defined broadly on the Johns Hopkins Covid information webpage as ?when most of a population is immune.? It?s not eradication, but it?s powerful.

Since this declaration that ?herd immunity? has already been achieved, there have been 17 million confirmed new infections in the United States?half again as many as had been recorded in the country in the previous 14 months of the pandemic?and more than 200,000 Covid deaths.

Yet have we? So how much can that guy be trusted? And I read he's being sued for malpractice... didn't fact check that... maybe I should check Twitter.

And about "natural" immunity. That's a misnomer. Getting immunity by being infected is not really "natural"... it's just another way to acquire immunity like being vaccinated (except with much greater risk). Both methods teach your body to product antibodies to battle infection except with vaccinations we have more data and studies to better predict and improve the efficacy (and you don't have to actually be infected). With "infection" immunity... it's just guessing.

Sweet sweet infection immunity... you go morekaos... and akula... since you believe in the efficacy of vaccines... don't get boosters... stop wearing your mask and go kiss some Covid patients... get your au natural on!

I guess IHO really thinks natural immunity can only be acquired by being infected with COVID. What an ignorant fool. I guess he missed the link I provided that UK scientists are studying protection from common cold corona virus and want to use that to create second generation of vaccines.
He doesn't understand the basic concept of asymptomatic cases either. The real natural immunity.

He doesn't look at the statistical disparity between Africa and US. Hint: one continent has single digit vaccination rate but lower COVID cases, certainly not body bags everywhere with a humantarian crisis.

Wait what about the narrative busting story that Japan is studying anti viral properties of IVM?

Deflect and ignore..

Mask for thee, not for me... How inconsiderate is Gavin who is not wearing a mask to protect someone who might be immune compromised

Poor akula... stooping to name calling and politicizing again.

When you have better reading comprehension and understand science, maybe we can have a conversation.

I notice, again, how you don't challenge iacrenter other than ask for data points that you are stretching to prove some irrelevant point.

Good thing you are so well known for your scientific expertise, i.e. thoroughly reading the analysis, making sure you normalize the data to consider differences and other stuff that is beyond me, but not you because you are the unquestioned scientific expert on TI, wow what another great piece of information. Comparing Africa and the US is like looking in a mirror! Exact demographics, exact government response, exact population response - I could go on but everyone on TI will just agree with your conclusions, no questions asked. Most africans probably gained natural immunity to most future diseases already during their childhood - I'm so jealous. Really you should have gone all in and looked at the statistical disparity between China and the US - similar to Africa so let's do it the Chinese way! That's a comparison right up your wheelhouse.

I did find a few articles that support you - as always, just trying to help you out. Didn't really read them but their titles looked good - you know, the same approach that has worked so well for you! So for your doubters, here are some articles that provided proof, even though that isn't necessary.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-54418613https://qz.com/africa/2049407/why-has-covid-19-had-less-of-an-impact-in-africa/https://www.ghspjournal.org/content/9/3/433

Deflect and ignore...an Oscar Wilde moment "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery..." Are you not pleased posters are following your lead? Of course you go well beyond just those two (maybe insult, bullshit etc.) so you will always be the undisputed greatest poster - no one does it better!

Really you should have gone all in and looked at the statistical disparity between China and the US - similar to Africa so let's do it the Chinese way!

No one doubts that you are an expert in inconsiderate and selfish behavior. TRUST ME ON THIS. This statement must be relevant to current discussion, unfortunately I'm too dumb to see how, but if you say it is that's good enough for your flock. Based on many of your posts, I realize that you a world expert so I'll pop in some names people reference you around the globe. I'm sure TIers feel honored by your presence.

I guess it would be inconsiderate for Gavin to purposely catch Covid (for that natural immunity) which might spread and not protect someone who might be immune compromised? But hey you're the expert on being inconsiderate.

I recall the ignorant fool IHO posted a link to John Hopkins COVID tracker and wanted me to look at the data.https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html

Well I did. India has lower vaccination rate then the US yet the US has more COVID deaths per Capita.

Oops. Even his own data source breaks apart his false narative. It is getting hilarious at this moment.

Akula gonna be akula - bet everyone didn't know he is also a stand-up comic

When you're right YOU ARE RIGHT! IHO is sure ignorant in providing you with any data links because you continually show everyone you're out of this world with your analysis and extremely thoughtful application/explanation of the results. There are NO BOUNDS to what extravagant sources you will dig up. Who cares about relevancy? Expanding that narrative is all that matters. Who cares that everyone wants you to go away? You desperately need to continue posting. The more you post, the more knowledge you provide about your abilities - keep up the good work!

Thanks for showing us your lighter side. I love how self-deprecating you are. Absorbing valid criticism but then turning it into a joke about others is a stroke of comedic genius. I continual crack up when reading your posts (might even say they are hilarious) although those not-so-bright TIers may see it as a desperate cry for help and/or attention. But hey, what do they know?

https://www.economist.com/briefing/...m-excess-deaths-worldwide-during-the-pandemic

[quote author=Economist Article]There have been 7m-13m excess deaths worldwide during the pandemic
The rich world suffered relatively badly, but most of the dying has been elsewhere

?
These data make clear that covid-19 has led to the deaths of far more people than official statistics suggest (see our briefing). Measured by excess deaths as a share of population, many of the world?s hardest-hit countries are in Latin America. Although Russia?s official death tally suggests that it has protected its citizens tolerably well, its numbers on total mortality imply that it has in fact been hit quite hard by covid-19. Similarly, we estimate that India?s death toll is actually in the millions, rather than the hundreds of thousands. At the other end of the table, a handful of countries have actually had fewer people die during the pandemic than in previous years.

Officially there are no Covid deaths, see, no problem.

Since the claim has been shared here before I?ll share this even though it is from Wapo.  It?s an analysis of the vaccine killing athletes claims and how it started and spread.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...lsehood-athletes-dying-covid-vaccines-spread/

[quote author= How the falsehood of athletes dying from coronavirus vaccines spread]
?
Let?s follow the misinformation trail.?A Danish soccer player collapses? On June 12, during the Euro 2020 match between Denmark and Finland, 29-year-old Christian Eriksen suffered cardiac arrest shortly before halftime. Almost immediately, there was speculation online that the midfielder, who had seemed healthy, had a reaction to a coronavirus vaccine ? even though his club football team, Inter Milan, said he had not been vaccinated.?

Lubos Motl, a blogger and physicist with a history of making false claims about coronavirus vaccines, tweeted that Eriksen had received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine 12 days earlier. He claimed his source was a radio interview with Inter Milan?s chief medic and cardiologist, an interview that never happened and was quickly denied by Inter Milan and Radio Sportiva.?

Motl deleted his tweet, but it was amplified by other vaccine skeptics who did not delete their tweets, such as Alex Berenson, a former New York Times reporter, and Brazilian journalist Allan dos Santos. (Their Twitter accounts were later suspended, as was Motl?s.) The false claim quickly spread to Facebook, in many languages.

I have said this since the beginning?this is not like polio or measles?

'Sadly, this virus will never leave our society': Weekly new infections again surpass 600,000. COVID-19 updates

America's recovery from the delta variant surge dropped the pace of new infections to under 500,000 per week in late October. Now cases are above 600,000 per week and are rising in 34 states, a USA TODAY analysis of Johns Hopkins University data shows.

The numbers are not close to January, when weekly infections peaked at 1.7 million. But the recovery from one wave has reversed into another wave, more than six months after free, safe, effective vaccines became widely available to all adults. The United States is again reporting an average of more than 1 case every second.

"Sadly, this virus will never leave our society," Nolan said.

Duhhh...

More than two thirds of Americans say 'it's time to accept COVID is here to stay and we must get on with our lives' as cases fall in the US: Poll also finds just 43% of people think Biden has done a good job tackling the pandemic
A Monmouth University poll released on Monday found that 70% of Americans agree that 'COVID is here to stay and we just need to get on with our lives'
Only about one-third of those surveyed from January 20 to January 24 said they felt the country will get the pandemic under control
Just 43 percent of respondents said Biden has done a good job in handling the pandemic - the first time in a year that a majority disapproved of his work
It comes as COVID cases are continuing to decline throughout the country
Some are now questioning whether COVID mandates are still necessary

When mentioning ignorant fool, you are not referring to yourself - RIGHT? Every once in a while, I've noticed confusion on your part in this respect. I'm so thankful that you haven't criticized any of my remarks because you know I post the truth. You're just showing everyone how much of a spine you have and our mutual respect!

When it comes to understanding science - you are the unquestioned/undisputable champ. Don't even have to read the link because you have proven yourself over and over and over and over and over again... Others are wasting their time reading it and posting critiques because you rightfully just don't care! I admire your tenacity with your continuing barrage of posts that show no desperation or insecurity on your part. Everyone is just hanging on their seats waiting for what you will post next. Maybe dig up 10 more relevant articles today to show how passionate you are about helping TIers understand your perfection.

Found another post that show just how much of a mess vaccines caused in SoCal. Always willing to help you out.
