@bones - yeah the swimming is 1 on 1 - they wear masks and face shields. The Montessori is teaching kinder, they are getting an exemption because of the age of the kids they also qualify as daycare. There are upwards of 100 kids. Not sure what the ratios are but they are less than what they were.

So it?s less risk than what it would normally be for school but it?s still a risk most parents are not willing to take but I still choose to take it for the well being and development of our kids. I do believe the risk to the kids is very low. Perhaps they bring it home but that is a risk my wife and I are willing to take. The percentages are in our favor. Keep in mind I?m a proponent of in person school and would send them to in person public school, normal or hybrid, it wouldn?t matter.

Don't lie, you wipe down your kids with Clorox wipes before you let them in the house... just like you were doing with your groceries and take-out food. :)

and microwave the take out food when he gets home.  :D
 
Wiping the kids down with wipes is to inefficient. I just use a spray bottle with Clorox and make them close their eyes and mouths. Done in 15 seconds :-)
 
I send my kids to private swim lessons too, both kids and one instructor.  They both also go to Montessori.  The younger one has had the same 4 kids (including mine) in the class since July I want to say, 2 of which are families in our small social circle, they see each other at school anyways so now they see each other on weekends too.  The older kid's class went from 5 to now 10, so people are slowly sending them back.  I don't know how I would teach the 2 young kids with both my wife and I working, so what works for us and the risks we take may not be for you.  I still believe in social distancing and wearing masks and do so to the best of our ability when going out, which is normally only my wife or I to get take out or do grocery shopping, the kids haven't stepped into Target, Costco, etc for like 4-5 months. 

Yes I make them wash their hands when they get home, no I don't change their clothes unless they want to, since they probably run into the backyard anyways or want to go for a walk/bike around the block.
 
I don't think anyone here is judging anyone for sending their kids to school/activities - at least I'm not.  My kids do a variety of things as well.  The point here is people (and qwerty) are concerned and their actions reflect that in the activities they choose to participate in. 

Along the same vein, California published new youth sports guidelines, allowing for the resumption of sports.  These look to be the same as the "camp" guidelines everyone was playing under a few weeks ago.  Hopefully this will allow cities to open up fields for practices again.

You're allowed to casually play on fields with a group of "friends", so a lot of teams have been using this gray area to hold practices.  Most won't wear identifying team gear.  And probably no insurance coverage.  So in that sense, it's good that CA came out with revised guidelines.  That way teams can hold practices "properly".
