Looks like that race is going to get feisty.  The long knives are out for Boebert...but she carries a gun....don't think she'll have any problems...

Boebert the Betrayer vs. Frisch the Fascist ? shootout at Shooters Grill!

I received an email from a guy named Adam Frisch. He?s running for Lauren Boebert?s seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. You remember Boebert. She?s bright, engaging and unburdened by the crap they teach in college these days. She?s also owner of a local Colorado institution called ?Shooter?s Grill.? Naturally, it?s located in Rifle, Colorado.

Boebert says and does things that trigger Democrats. Such as wearing a sidearm to work ? both her former work in the Grill and her current work in the House. She doesn?t suffer fools lightly, but insofar as I know she doesn?t shoot them.

Frisch is a Minnesota native who made more than a good living as a Wall Street banker after marrying a rich heiress. His banking specialty was currency trading. Between his choice of wife as an heiress and his choice of career as a currency trader, you could say he?s currently currency?d. With some of that currency, he moved to Aspen while sending his kids to East Coast boarding schools.

He doesn?t exactly fit into Shooters Grill or the rest of Boebert?s district which, apart from Aspen, he describes as a place of ?ranching, rural farms and small towns.?

None of this political junk is newsworthy, except for the vitriol Frisch directs at Boebert. His email explains (we ranchers, rural farmers and small towners need smart people like Frisch to explain things) that Boebert is ineffective, divides America, is extremist, blah blah blah.

Not only all that, Frisch says, but some ?people came together in Pueblo? calling for Boebert?s resignation.

Whoa! Pueblo!

Honestly, Adam, have you even been to Pueblo?

Adapt or die...
Nancy Pelosi says she fears for 'our DEMOCRACY' if Republicans win the House and insists her party will PICK UP seats - despite trailing in the polls and facing a GOP bloodbath in November
'Democracy is on the ballot in November,' said Nancy Pelosi on Monday
She framed the elections as an existential test for American democracy
And she claimed that Democrats could pick up as many as 15 seats in November
Yet polls suggest her party faces a desperate struggle to avoid calamity

Smith tries to extend control and maximize damage before their inevitable loss...

AOC says Democrats need to go further LEFT to stand a chance in the midterms: Squad member hints Biden is ignoring progressives, should use more executive action and claims she predicted Manchin would kill Build Back Better
The Democrat firebrand said young people 'worked overtime' to get Joe Biden elected to the White House but now feel they 'aren't necessarily being seen'
Earlier this month she and the rest of the House Progressive Caucus released a list of policy demands they want Biden to pass via executive order
She urged Biden to 'govern decisively' by executive actions and warned Dems they are 'in trouble' if the president doesn't pass more progressive policies
Ocasio-Cortez also appears to say 'I told you so' in relation to moderate Senator Joe Manchin's opposition to the now-defunct Build Back Better plan
'I have the utmost respect and confidence in the president, but I just felt like we called two different plays on this one,' Ocasio-Cortez said on Tuesday

In 2018, there was a blue wave, and katie porter won.
In 2020, there was a blue wave, and now Dems won the senate and presidency. Majority leader Chuck Schumer.

When you push one side too hard, the other side will push back.  The force will bring everything back into balance.
Trump pushed too hard & lost...we'll see how hard Biden pushes.

That's not a knife...That's a knife!!...or WAVE.

Prepare for the Democratic Tears in November - the Meltdown Is Going to Be Glorious

There are a lot of indicators that the November midterms are going to be a big red wave for the Republicans.
Democrats are going to have a meltdown when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is booted from the Speakership, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) loses the chair of the Intel Committee, the Republicans take over, stop the Biden agenda and bring back a little justice on the Russia collusion smear as well as the Biden scandal. It?s going to be glorious.

Recent polling numbers are interesting

Men College + went from D +16 in 2018 to R +10 now, a total shift of R +26

Men no College went from R+8 in 2018 to R +20 now, a total shift of R +12

Women College + went from D+34 in 2018 to D +38 now, a total shift of D +4

Women no College went from D+3 in 2018 to D +1, a total shift of R +2

There's probably many layers to this, but one has to wonder why we are so polarized. How did we get here?

Social mediahttps://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2022/05/social-media-democracy-trust-babel/629369/

Social media is definitely part of it, but does it account for the entirety of the polarizing shift? ( in this case straight down the Male / Female gender line)

I also don't think social media alone is causing the change in role politics play in people's lives.

For example, recent polling showed that almost 50% of Americans do not want their kids to marry someone from the other political party. That number used to hover between 10%-12% in the 1990s.

In the 90s, almost 50% of Americans didn't want their kids to marry someone from another religion.

Politics has essentially swapped places with religion.

Social media can't possibly be the only reason for this gigantic shift.

Trump happened.

He showed people that it's okay to be a jerk and if you have enough support... even cancel culture can't touch you (well.. except maybe it did because he's not the Prez anymore... but not in his supporters' minds).

Does the gender polarity surprise you when a political party aligns with a debatably misogynistic persona?

Look at some of the words some R posters here use to describe the female VP.

And social media does have a big part of it because it gives those once "private" voices a platform. They see the president can talk all kinds of trash, so they can do it too.

The tower of Babel metaphor is good... but it's also ironic because the fragmentation of language reduced the communication between people... while social media allowed people with different messages to be heard more... and to cause more fragmentation.

Covid is a perfect example to me. It's science and health... viruses don't look at politics... yet it becomes a line drawn in the sand even if it goes against common sense. Even today, there are posters here who say that it's a D conspiracy ignoring the fact that all the lockdowns, vaccine trials etc started under an R government.

I think Fox news started the hyper-partisan style of reporting that all cable news emulates today.  This was in the 90's during the Lewinsky scandal.  Over time, as their ratings went up, more and more people have been brainwashed into the hyper-partisan dichotomy served up by Fox, CNN, and MSNBC.

Trump was not the cause of partisanship, but actually the cure in the beginning.  He transformed things from Republicans vs. Democrats to Nationalists vs. Globalists and destroyed both the corrupt Bush and Clinton dynasties in the process.  That's why so many never-Trumpers were in the Republican party in his early years, while blue-collar union workers switched from blindly voting Democrat to voting for Trump.  By 2020, Trump had remade the Republican party in his own image, and the never-Trumpers were pushed out, which sort of reinstated the traditional polarization between the two parties.

Maybe we are asking too much from government and people need to get back to the basics. If we ask too much, and pile it all into a bill, nothing gets done. It?s time to simplify the bill writing process to eliminate the excuses.

The fastest way into the minority...do you think they are doing this on purpose for some reason?

So...it is civil war then?...glad I live on an Island (very defensible in civil war or zombie apocalypses)...I do love the Squad... ;D ;D >:D

?Squad? Rep. Bowman predicts ?civil war? if GOP takes control in midterms

Progressive Democratic Rep. Jamaal Bowman warned of a stark outcome if Republicans take back power in the November midterm elections ? one that would ?embolden? far-right extremists and white nationalists who he claims ?have been pushing? for ?civil war.?

During a Saturday interview with MSNBC?s ?The Cross Connection with Tiffany Cross,? the Bronx-Westchester member of the congressional ?Squad? led by socialist darling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) claimed Republicans will quickly take action to halt Democratic progress in the investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, saying the House select committee?s findings would be ?completely suppressed.?

Bowman also claimed the GOP would ?impeach President Biden as quickly as possible and they will continue to find ways to impeach him going forward.

I think Trump-like policies minus the Orange Man's brashness is going to be a winning formula for the next couple of cycles.

More than 1 million voters switch to GOP in warning for Dems

But nowhere is the shift more pronounced ? and dangerous for Democrats ? than in the suburbs, where well-educated swing voters who turned against Trump?s Republican Party in recent years appear to be swinging back.

Ben Smith, who lives in suburban Larimer County, Colorado, north of Denver, said he reluctantly registered as a Republican earlier in the year after becoming increasingly concerned about the Democrats? support in some localities for mandatory COVID-19 vaccines, the party?s inability to quell violent crime and its frequent focus on racial justice.

?Biden and Democrats are woefully out of touch with the American people, and that?s why voters are flocking to the Republican Party in droves,? RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel told the AP. She predicted that ?American suburbs will trend red for cycles to come? because of ?Biden?s gas hike, the open border crisis, baby formula shortage and rising crime.?

Back in Larimer County, Colorado, 39-year-old homemaker Jessica Kroells says she can no longer vote for Democrats, despite being a reliable Democratic voter up until 2016.

?The party itself is no longer Democrat, it?s progressive socialism,? she said, specifically condemning Biden?s plan to eliminate billions of dollars in student debt.

What next? Legalize pot? ;)

Follow Colombia, legalize Cocaine.

Going dent Police budgets though, with no civil forfeiture.

Legal in Oregon isn't it?

I wasn't actually joking about legalizing pot federally. Dems go to bed every night dreaming about one thing........ how to get more taxes. So.... next bill to hit...... includes how to pay for it........ pot tax.
