City of Irvine Planning Commission Agendas

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Adopt RESOLUTION NO. 13-3258 ? A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF IRVINE APPROVING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT 00544306-PCPU TO INSTALL A CLASS 4 WIRELESS COMMUNICATION FACILITY WITH ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT IN A LANDSCAPE LOT (TRACT 17394, LOT H) ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF ROOSEVELT BETWEEN VISIONS AND BAY TREE IN CYPRESS VILLAGE (PLANNING AREA 40); FILED BY VERIZON WIRELESS

If they can get one that could service Stonegate, I'll be much happier.

why don't stone gate residents petition their HoA to solicit proposals to enhance the wireless infrastructure there?

We did that in my neighborhood and had a company provide a few options to increase service for AT&T, Verizon, etc.

Probably because of NIMBY...Woodbury has terrible cell reception as well.

They can just put the tower on the landfill side of Portola and wouldn't dirty up the neighborhood.

I got AT&T to give me the microcell for free because they said there are at least 40 homes registered with microcells in the area which designates that there is a dead zone.

I tried that but they were going to charge me $100 and a $20 monthly fee.  Are you in Stonegate?

Yes I am...it took me 3 weeks of battling and got escalated to management.  Even if they charge you for the unit, there shouldn't be a monthly fee.

There is no monthly fee if you don't ask for unlimited voice minutes (which they give you with regular plans now anyways)

AT&T's LTE is great in Tustin.

I did the speed test on my iphone 5S, using wifi (cox premier) i got 25MBPS downlod and about 3-4MBPS upload. Using LTE i got 23MBPS download and about 8MBPS upload. Pretty damn fast.

They're not hacked by the Chinese government... but by the Chinese public. The use us as proxies so that they can surf the Internet unfettered behind the Great Firewall.

OHHHH that's right...they will try to sell you on some crazy unlimited minutes plan for your home.  I raised the question...why would I pay more to have a home phone because your coverage is horrible? It comes down to having them check how many registered microcells are in the neighborhood.

I get 4 bars of LTE in the Irvine side of the Marketplace but it moves at 3G speeds.  I guess I have to move further into Tustin territory

we have less money in tustin so not as many cell phone users, therefore the cell connections are faster in Tustin.

Tustin Demographic takes endless amounts of selfies and post online.  Irvine demographic takes pics of food and selfies and post online.

Both waste good bandwidth.

Ten 5000 sq ft homes to replace the child care center?  Ten homes on 7 acres?  ~30,000 sq ft lots?  Drool.....
