Why not consider watching <a href="http://online.wsj.com/quotes/main.html?symbol=mcd&type=usstock+usfund">MCD</a> or better yet, <a href="http://online.wsj.com/quotes/main.html?symbol=mcd&type=usstock+usfund">YUM</a> (pizza hut, taco bell, KFC)?
 
its quite possible the mkt already priced in the poor expectations in sbux before the news hit the mainstream media. they've taken an awful big hit already. mcd's new cheaper, and by most accounts, tastier coffee offerings doesn't help.



i notice coffee shops are noticeably emptier at all times of the day. the sbux in woodbury doesn't even bother to stay open past 7:30 pm!

i'm not sure i've ever seen more than a single person in line at one time at the coffee bean inside ralphs.
 
Betting on the stock market if far riskier at this time.....my reasoning.



The supply and demand levels were substantially changed by the internet. 15 Years ago there were a limited number of people in the world that could trade stocks........it was limited to the affluent that had access to a stock broker. When the internet got started, the number of individuals that could trade stocks went up substantially. Anyone in the world with access to a computer can now easily buy, sell, trade.............



So the number of customers trying to buy stocks has increased many fold.......continuing to drive prices for stocks up, or at least maintain them at historically high levels.
 
I'm Not gloating ( ok I am!).. But I was Right !! Yes I did make some Extra $$ on my "Hunch"



I think the Dow may eventually go below 10,000.. but I am not quiting my day job yet !



I will go back to - Saving lots of $$$ Renting and



wait to buy that Dream Home in a few years for A LOT LESS then it is now !!
 
Anyone can predict that the financials will head lower, but are you actually buying/shorting stocks or just mouthing off? Put some of your trades up here. I think we can all talk big after the market closes on what to buy and what not to buy. Good luck buying at the "bottom." Even Warren Buffet is smart enough to admit he can't predict the bottom on stocks.

I have had 4 short positions and not letting go until I hit paydirt...

I had Proshares FXP (shorts the China index) for a few months and it returned 30% during that time. I just looked at it today and am stunned at the extreme fluctuations it's been through.

haha, I just read that part of the thread last night.



I tried to do a quote from that show on here before but it failed miserably. (It was the episode where Jimmy kept talkng in third person)
