Built in fridge for new house

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Are there any advantages to get a built in (besides aesthetics)?  Always wondered about that and price always scared me away.

I think I would only get a built-in if it were a double fridge or extra-wide one like they have in restaurants.

FYI for those buying a new house. I was able to get a 42" kitchen aid built in refrigerator for ~$6500 from the builder. They processed the transaction after COE so it doesn't get included in your tax basis. They also didn't charge me tax or an install fee (usually $300+ for a built in).  Sears is selling (lightly) damaged ones for about $5,500 at their outlet which doesn't include install or tax. And buying brand new, the prices are just ridiculous. So buying it thru the builder was a great deal. If you're interested in a built in, ask your design center about it.

Which builder?  They installed a used fridge from Sears for you?

I'm kindof embarrassed to share that I just downsized to the tiny 35 gallon trash bins. And that I'm smugly proud of them, standing like twigs on the street against the massive redwood trunk-like 65 gallon-ers.

Between that, our 20cf fridge and our 2 car garage housing the little EV hatch, I'm afraid our venn diagram of similarities is getting smaller. We do have biking; we'll always have biking.

in certain countries the trash cans are reflective of your manhood. mine are 100gallon, they were special ordered for me.

Either my ability to express myself sucks or I'm getting punked here. I bought a new kitchen aid fridge from my builder. They installed it for me using a 3rd party installer. The sears mention was used as a price comparison.

Which builder sells a new fridge for less than new price?

I think it's Shea that she is referring to.

Obviously your builder is not IP. :)

I also remember The New Home Co. also offer great deal on the build in fridges.  Since TNHC's getting all the appliance through Viking, they are getting a great deal on the built in fridges and they pass on the saving to their home buyers.  This is one rare occasion that builder's options are cheaper than outside big box stores.

You are very welcome. This thread was meant to aid those (I.e. Me) who automatically assume the options at the design center are a ripoff.  Thank YOU for pissing all over it like you do every thread.

I agree buying brand new is a rip off, glad you could get one used, through the builder or otherwise.

I would only buy a used frig if it was the sales model and there was a significant discount. (50% off or more)
