NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
I just think NO has so many things go their way last year, hardly any injuries to their starters. Houston, is based on being healthy which is a big if. And I think that is a tough bet trying to guess who will play more between Shaq, Yao, McGrady.

and the tough thing about the Clippers being in the top 8...who would you take out to put in the Clippers?

[quote author="Irvinian" date=1224160042]how can you have utah in front of NO? houston as a 4 seed? if Macgrady can play more than half the season and I'm surprised not to see clippers either 7 or 8 seed. I cant comment on your east predication as I dont follow them that close right now. Also the suns will be in the top 5. Shaq will shine this year he still has something to prove to Kobe and Jerry Bus.</blockquote>

Utah and NO are pretty evenly matched. They were very close in point differential last year. Somehow NO had the edge on defense but Utah had a better offense. Neither made signifcant change during the off-season so they both could finish 1-4 very easily.

Houston is a great defensive team but poor one offensively. Artest could help with that considerably as he should be good for a +5 in points per night over Battier. McGrady is already hurt and Yao can't stay healthy for a full season. There is no reason to expect either of guys can play 75 games this year. Both Yao and McGrady are soft in crunch time too so they won't be going all the way any time soon.

Phoenix is old and getting older. Shaq has been on the decline for years. He is 36 and has never cared much about conditioning. Grant Hill is almost done. Nash has a couple of years in him tops. Their depth is suspect after years of avoiding the luxury tax. Barbosa won't be as effective in a slower tempo system. He's not as good in half-court sets. No backup PG so if Nash goes down for any length of time, they are toast. At best they are a six seed I think and could struggle to make the playoffs with that weak bench.

Opening day of basketball season makes me happy! :)

Lake Show vs. a wonderfully likeable Blazers team with my fantasy boy Greg Oden tonight... Love it!!!

I'm out of town so there's nothing to keep me in the office late .. I'm going to catch Bos v Clv :) I might sleep through the Lakers game.
