"Police seek a man with a knife who robbed an Irvine bank branch Wednesday afternoon. The robber walked into an East West Bank branch in the 5400 block of Walnut Avenue about 1 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash, Irvine police Lt. Julia Engen said. The man fled on foot, displaying a knife to a security guard as he escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, Engen added. Officers were unable to locate the robber during a search of the Arbor Village Shopping center and the surrounding area. Authorities described the robber as a white male in his 20s or 30s with a thin build who was wearing blue pants, a dark jacket and a blue baseball cap during the holdup. It wasn't immediately clear if the man is tied to other recent robberies."

Must be pretty stealthy because there aren't many easy getaway routes from that branch. Traffic lights and poor drivers are all over that area. I avoid it whenever possible because of it.

Next breaking story, home prices and demand in irvine will increase as a result of the robbery.

Further validation for asian fcb's that keeping their money under the mattress in an Irvine home is safer than the bank.

Hey rkp, is the red bold term a stereotype? Was the note written on a ChickFiLA receipt?

IHS - If asked, my Korean sister can give a testimony how stereotyping isn't a big part of how I operate.

Irvine is full of parents driving dual occupancy street whales, incapable of driving them either as intended (4WD trucks) or as they should, piloting their vehicles at 15mph in a 55 zone.

A White guy in Arbor Shopping Center was hard to find? Dude, just look above the 5'-6" horizon line.
There is a Wienerschnitzel in that area that is frequently visited by people taller than 5'-6" (present company included).

Here is a perfect example. Chanel makes and stocks more shoes in size 6-7-1/2 than the larger sizes because Asians love this brand. Without stereotyping Asians with small feet Chanel would have missed the market.

Should tell this guy about my casino bus theory, could use a third knife man.

That's the worst idea I've heard. You jump on a bus filled w/ sr citizens and announce a robbery. That annoucement won't be heard past the 3rd row. ten million questions of, "young man, what did you say? What's that in your hand? Is that my grandson?" By the time everyone on the bus figures out they're being robbed, 30 minutes will have passed. Thereafter, getting them to take out their valuables will be another 30 minutes easy. Some may even tell you the history behind their valued possession before handing it over.

By the time you get through the 4th row, swat will have surrounded the bus and you'll be over at Musick. Good luck finding that 3rd sucker to join you.

The robbers in Asia have no patience so they chopped off the old people's hands and fingers for bracelets and rings. They would also rip the earrings from ears by tearing through the flesh.

Fixed that.

But if they don't know you're robbing them, who is going to call SWAT? You obviously incapacitate the bus driver.
Good luck finding that 3rd sucker to join you.
You know you want in... that's why you've already analyzed the plan.

Funniest thing I read all day!!  :D

I analyze my plan again...might not be worth it since we got mostly penny slot players carrying at most $500-1000 cash, so that makes it $50k..  Back to my day job

Their cheap Asian mall luggages may net you a couple of dollars on Ebay. However the loot inside such as White Flower oil and Tiger Balms supplies could last you a lifetime.

why don't we just change the name of this board to "old white guys and what they think they know about asians."

seriously you cant be that dense.  there is a difference between stereotyping and market segmentation.  market segmentation relies on statistical data, research, and breaking down large groups into smaller groups that share similar traits.  the goal is to serve that smaller group better.  while stereotyping might seem similar to you, its different because most of the time, its based on perception and not data, its negative in tone, and it categorizes an entire group based on limited knowledge.

many people tend to generalize and having a perception, hunch or belief and acting on it is human nature.  there is nothing wrong with that.  what you do is take that generalization as an absolute truth of an entire group and then speak negatively about it and thats what makes it stereotyping.
