An Open Invitation to The Irvine Company

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
[quote author="jumpcut" date=1248329267][quote author="IrvineRenter" date=1248324798][quote author="reason" date=1248324495]IR,

So this conference call. Afterward, you'll be posting the questions and answers on the forum?</blockquote>

I don't know. We haven't figured it all out yet. That does sound like a good idea.

I hope Zovall or some other tech wiz can figure out how to record the call and make the MP3 available on the site.</blockquote>
I thought this was going to be a live chat in the chat room. That would seem to make the most sense. then everyone could participate in real time. If your interviewee is not comfortable with typing, maybe someone at IHB could be the go-between to relay the questions and answers.

Let's take advantage of these new-fangled Interwebs.</blockquote>

Another method might be for a moderated call with chat. I could interview Mr. Young on the conference line, but only me and Mr. Young would be heard. I will have reviewed our question list in advance, and I will be monitoring the chat to see reaction and ask any follow up questions. That might be easier than having 300 people on the phone with any one of them being able to talk.

We haven't worked out the details of the call format yet.

Ask him why Bkshopr the most experience person in design and market demographic who understood the needs of all IHB readers and Asian population is excluded from developing products that meet the desires of consumers instead relying on consultants that know very little about the demographics.

Now, now...lets be nice to our guest, Bk. Haha!

Seriously,

Do you know how well the products would be accepted with a BK approved label? with a low price of course for Ihbers! IHO will camp out for weeks.

You should definitely do a moderated call. I'm not sure how an open call with 300 people on the line would even work. There's no way to pick who gets to talk and you just have 300 people talking over each other.

Mr. Young was the mayor of Santa Ana for 11 yrs. Maybe you could ask him in person at the next Floral Park block party.

He lived in FP and I think he lives in Coto now.

I second that. Is the company not capable of recognizing that a product which is associated with Bk, would win favor with the hundreds of bloggers and lurkers here? That is the sort of advertising that their money can not buy. Acquiring Bk and the reputation he has developed for having high standards and authenticity would be an advantage for them. If they choose not to, it is truly their loss in more ways than one.

This morning, I received <a href="http://www2.villagesofirvine.com/mk/get/N09WE-01?_EC=I1bQ0cTRyraG_5b-uMDNay">this email</a> from The Irvine Company (as I'm sure many of you did as well), touting the success of Ivy, Phase I, and advertising the release of Ivy, Phase II . What caught my attention is that they have added a line to the bottom which states, "<strong>Models do not reflect racial preference.</strong>" </blockquote>

So are they saying the whites and asian models are not their preference or it doesn't represent Irvine's racial make up.

[quote author="kayochan" date=1248333929]I agree with SoCal. I would buy a BK approved home at Woodbury as soon as it was built.</blockquote>
Keep dreaming. Remember, TIC goes by the "rack'em, stack'em, and pack'em" building philosophy.

[quote author="jumpcut" date=1248227602][quote author="zovall" date=1248220628]Does anyone here visit/participate on the <a href="http://www.flyertalk.com/">FlyerTalk</a> forums? It is a huge community of frequent flyers and there are dedicated boards for most airline and hotel loyalty programs.

One of the boards is for <a href="http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starwood-preferred-guest-429/">Starwood</a>. Starwood is the company that owns the St. Regis, Westin, Sheraton, The W, etc brands. The Starwood forum on Flyertalk is THE place for Starwood fanatics. They have had a dedicated employee who has been posting there for years and it's been a great resource.

Some of the other boards (<a href="http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/southwest-rapid-rewards-501/">Southwest</a>, <a href="http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/american-aadvantage-445/">American Airlines</a>) also regularly have employees posting there (although it seems like that is a personal choice, not necessarily a corporate initiative like it seems to be with Starwood).</blockquote>
I've been on the Flyertalk American Airlines forum for many years. The employees on that forum -- mostly flight attendants and a couple of pilots -- all do so anonymously. Sometimes they have posted internal memos about service changes or other things. A couple appear to have even gotten their wrists slapped (or worse) when AA has figured out who they are. There is no corporate-sanctioned presence at all, although it is common knowledge that AA follows the discussions quite closely.

Like AA, I see very little upside for TIC to get into longwinded discussions with anonymous people on a forum.</blockquote>

I think I mentioned in a previous thread that I used to be very active on FlyerTalk, and it was primarily in the Marriott and AA forums. However, when I stopped traveling for business weekly I gave up that addiction. The exchanges with the AA pilots and flight attendants were entertaining, frustrating and educational--sometimes all at once!

I spent some time over the weekend trying to figure out how to use my remaining miles before I lose my AA status next Feb. :(

Now, why would they think there is discussion that the homes do reflect racial preference? Bk - this one's for you! :)</blockquote>

Actually, that tag has been on a number of homebuilder and developer sites for awhile. It has to do with Fair Housing laws...
