Affordable Housing next to PP

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Age restricted buyers or tenants must approve age requirement as primary owner or lease owner but they are allowed to have younger relatives (caretaker) living with them part time.

There is "affordable" housing all over Irvine.  In every village; at every school.  They are meant to blend in not look like The Projects.

Want to buy at Sagewood, but hesitate when read this. Seems that the Affordable Income Housing is just next to Sagewood final phases. Any advices?

go buy in orchard hills. you dont want to live in the ghetto known as pavillion park with all that affordable housing. the last thing you want is some lazy mexican in a wifebeater breaking in to your car or cruising around your street in his lowrider with his windows down blaring War's "lowrider" so everyone inside their homes can hear the music. actually, the worst part would be if he married your daughter.

Ahhhem...  "Affordable Housing", being as stigmatized as it has become, is now called "Workforce Housing" by most Real Estate Industry pearl clutching beta males whenever they hear the old term.

I kid you not.

On the flip side of the coin, a good affordable workforce housing project can be a terrific addition to the neighborhood. At least there's pride of ownership with workforce housing. versus the view by some renters that they can trash the place then assume the owner will be made whole by "taking it out of my deposit".

My .02c

Thank you! Think the gated side is too expensive, Strada will be one choice in OH, and Mendocino be another in SG. Liked Ridgewood for the lot size and floor plan and no MR, but concern on location for resale. The pricing is going up with almost every phase release!

I have a buddy that works for the city. Irvine in General gets more affordable housing than most cities in the state. It's everywhere.

I think some residents have been living there a few months already.

This is actually a good alternative to normal low income housing.  Having 80 year old riff raff down the street doesn't bother me nearly as much as a single mom in her early 40's with 3 punk teenagers she doesn't care about.

I'll take it.

gotta read a bit more widely jmoney...irvine actually was sued due to its low amount of 'workforce' housing, relative to other parts of CA.
