This is me, I have been around here for years and have nothing to hide. In fact, I have vast amounts of knowledge to add. Too bad knowledge is not welcome here, at least when it conflicts with the preconceived notions of so many here.

People listen to IR because whatever he says tallies with what WSJ/ CNN Money are saying. I don't think anyone would stop and listen to him if prices were still appreciating. Right? It's funny that he is being blamed :-)



Anyway, good publicity for IR. Now wait for some builder to come with the lure of 1$ homes for IHB bloggers to turn the market.

Let's get one thing straight: I am not bitter about the value of my home. I am bitter about being the subject of an invitation of personal attacks. That is what IR planned, and that is what has happened. His ability to delude himself and others is astonishing. Just like quoting 6% rates in a 4.5% market!

Do not assume that the person [who started this thread - edited] has anything to do with this thread just because someone is using that name as theirs.

He hasn't deluded anyone. He just tells the truth. It seems that some people aren't interested in hearing that.

Good point. But I am sure the person who started this thread is either someone who overpaid when buying their house and as such helped push the market up or someone who is in the housing industry (and has now probably lost their job) who helped push the market up.
 
If you were to spend any amount of time on this board, you would realize that no one here is taking any joy in the financial mess currently facing our country. In fact many, if not most, of us are suffering right along with everyone else. You seem to forget that these people didn't cause it, they simply warned about it. This mess has actually turned out to be far worse (and getting more so everyday) than even people here predicted. I don't think the regulars here are enjoying watching or experiencing the types of job losses that are occurring now. No one is immune to the effects of the mortgage meltdown. Saying something doesn't make it true, it just happens that people here said something that became true.

If all these homeowners are responsible? Why are we in this recession? It all started because of housing and IRRESPONSIBILITY. There are plenty of responsible homeowners out there, but irresponsibility is why we are in this mess.



I think its pretty clear whether IR's posts center around the responsible or the irresponsible ones.
 
You are all working on 10% of the knowledge of this story. No, the person starting the thread is not a disgruntled homeowner, they are someone pretending to be me to invite attacks. Second, my beef with IR has zero to do with housing prices and everything to do with bullying, closedmindedness and general malice. I have been dealing with this for the better part of two years. But don't let facts stop you from putting in your 2 cents! And don't give me that tired garbage about irresponsiblility. I owned a $2M home, until my husband got cancer and our outlook changed. I put hundreds of thousands down on my current home, not including upgrades. Looking back, I wish I had put nothing down, but it's water under the bridge.

Part of being a good person is being able to say.

I WAS WRONG. "Now is not a good time to buy a home".

Neither was anytime after 2003 based on todays reality.

Neither was using creative financing with the expectation

of refinancing with more debt based on the hope of huge appreciation.

The entire Real Estate and Mortgage business ran wild and destroyed

huge numbers of families financially with a business model

that was based on a constant that was fabricated.



Constant = Home Appreciation. "Housing Prices always goes up"



That lie is where you need to put your blame.

That business model has FAILED.

Prices went down. And will go down even more.



But to blame IR. Weak. Very weak indeed.



Personal attack ? Even weaker.



Its just another Irvine Neighborhood. And not a very nice one if you ask me. Its just another home. A place to shower and sleep. Just like a rental.
 
And another thing: that was low, even for you, Irvine Renter, to publish private correspondence between us. Clearly, you have issues with boundries and what is acceptable behaviour.
 
BLT, I was never (previously) in real estate, therefore, I never sold anyone any homes. My ethics are beyond reproach.

You lost money and due to circumstances had to downsize your lifestyle.

What makes you think you?re special or different than anyone else?

What about the numerous people who lost fortunes much larger than yours and got scammed by Madhoff?
 
Who said anything about being different than anyone else? I'm no different than anyone else here, except I have to endure insulting pictures from people who don't know diddly squat.
 
When I first saw this thread, I was going to close it because someone was impersonating someone else and using a full name. This is in bad taste, and it is against our policies. However, since the person being impersonated has been so vocal on this thread, and since that same person has accused me of not giving her the opportunity to express her opinions, I am going to leave this thread open -- for now. When our disgruntled homeowner has said her peace, this thread will be closed.



BTW, I enjoyed the line about the $799,000 comp. That is hardcore denial...
 
And IR, if you were really on the ball, you would have done a story on the unbelievable lapse of judgment on the part of the trustee on 78 Fringe Tree. Lemme see, I can get anywhere from $650,000 to $750,000 on this asset, by merely listing it for a while, but no, I'd rather give it away for $450,000 on the courthouse steps. How is this allowed? They are inviting speculators do drive down values at warp speed.
