Kalapa must have fled the country like many other Harris supporters have said they were going to.
One of them - Eva Longoria - is going to be splitting her time between Spain and Mexico instead of living full time in California. Seems weird wanting to move out of a one party failed state into another, but on the other hand at least the other failed state has better margaritas and much cheaper gas.

Since California is already a sanctuary state, this looks like more pandering to their liberal base. Considering Gascon lost in a landslide and prop 36 won by an even larger margin, one would think that politicians would get the message that the majority of LA residents don't buy into these progressive agendas such as soft on crime and open borders/coddling of illegal migrants. Bill Clinton was good at reading the room and adjusting his agenda accordingly. Today's democrat elected officials not so much.

Tren de Aragua already has a presence in California and I've read they are actively recruiting illegal migrants in LA (and other cities). Time will tell how big these blinders are and if these illegal migrant gang members are "protected".

She is a more distraction as the Dems knew the real battle is in the Senate and House. The presidential election got called on election night and once the attention turned to the President elects cabinet picks and so on, they were still counting the votes for the Senate and House for many days if not weeks.
