Presidential Elections

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
It's funny the party of law and order came to his defense, calling the verdict "shameful". I guess in the GOP's eyes, Republicans are above the law. They can do ANYTHING without consequences. Party of law and order. Just doesn't apply to GOP.
Democrats are the party of restricting 2nd Amendment rights and yet, here we have the first son lying on the form to purchase this gun. I guess in their eyes Democrats are above the law. They can do ANYTHING without consequences. Party of restrictions on gun ownership. Just doesn't apply to Democrats with the last name Biden.

Polls are about even.

This is going to come down to the extremes and the fence voters.

I also think Biden is too old but Trump is too crazy (although sometimes that can be a good crazy).

I'm more afraid of Trump supporters because he enables divisiveness (IMO) and grandiose self-empowerment (why do you think Jan 6 happened?).

Wish there was a better candidate on either side.

We'll get a clearer pic that's going on after the first debate. If Joe survives, he can go on through November. If Joe botches things, he'll be replaced by Michelle. (I can only picture a hologram generated by R2-D2 of Kamala saying "Help us Michelle Obama. You're our only hope")

Can't wait for the end of the current SCOTUS term with so many rulings of significance ahead impacting how the election messaging goes forward from there.

I hear this prediction about Michelle Obama all the time, but I don't get it. Why would she give up reaping millions of dollars as a former first lady and a very easy lifestyle for the hardships of being a President? There's nothing really to gain.

@Liar Loan

It's because they have no one else. Governor Dippidy Doo can't run on his record what with Cali on the verge of bankruptcy (not to mention we're also a crime ridden cesspool). Hillary /Kamala/Stacy Abrams are all non-starters. Mark Cuban is a maybe at best, but he has more to lose than anyone on this list.

Most of the others"D's" have zero name recognition. Who else is there? The Rock? Fetterman? Please...

in terms of financial damages, BLM riots cost more than Jan 6. Let's put this way, let's say you are on the jury for a trial against a prominent MAGA figure, you will be concerned about someone from the left doxxing your name and home address (and pay you a visit) if you don't give a guilty verdict. The same cannot be said vice versa.

That's a LIE. It's the other way around. I guess I'll have to flag you a MAGA supporter now.

Are you saying BLM was a Democratic event?

Not sure what you are getting at here... just remember, unlike most on this board, I'm independent and don't lean based on politics. If it was Biden or Obama behind the Jan 6 insurrection, I would feel the same way against it.

BLM, at least to me, wasn't left or right... it was about people. Just like Covid and everything else that gets politicized.

So are you saying that Jan 6 was okay? Whenever I press on that... the Trump supporters don't answer definitively.

I see, you're looking at it through the lens of what would be best for the party. The way I see it is her most valuable asset is her brand. If she runs for President, not only does her earning power come to a sudden halt, but her post-Presidency brand value is at risk of being less than it is now because Presidents inevitably get bogged down by a scandal or voter fatigue with the lack of change in their lives.

Well, it seems the groundwork is being laid. Interesting timing right before the debate.

Exclusive: Michelle Obama's private frustration with the Bidens

Former First Lady Michelle Obama privately has expressed frustration over how the Biden family largely exiled her close friend Kathleen Buhle after Buhle's messy divorce from Hunter Biden, two people familiar with the relationship told Axios.

Why it matters: The family tensions — and the former first lady's disdain for partisan politics — are partly why one of the Democrats' most popular voices hasn't campaigned for President Biden's re-election, the sources said, even as former President Obama has been a willing surrogate.
