Two nights ago I was talking in my sleep, which particularly amuses my husband because he can sometimes have really odd converations with me. So, the other night I'm babbling about Feng Shui. Now, I've never been into Feng Shui and still am not, but I can only imagine it was all of BK's references to good and bad Feng Shui that spawned this midnight diatribe about how we absolutely must right away this very minute deal with the bad feng shui in the yard!

You have IHB forums in your favorites in your Crackberry browser, and anytime you go to the intarwebs on it, it is always on IHB.

You are sitting next to your SO with your laptop in front of you, and hers in front of her, and you are both laughing at the same thread and hitting the thank you button at the same time.

You no longer have a real first name, and are now only referred to as graph or graphcakes. I still don't know IR2's real name, and I just refer to him as Duece.

You go out to dinner with a bunch of IHBer's and you use your Crackberry to get an update on the most bizarre thread for the entire table.

Your dinner conversations are about Tenmagnet, Fannie Mae, how many escrows will fall out, when the hell will Ipo's house close, what Irvine restaurant to try next, and how many foreclosures happened that day and at what discount.

And... you met your SO on IHB.

I was wondering if that was what was taking place because I couldn't imagine you two in seperate parts of the city posting replies and thank yous within seconds of each other.

Here's another one....a customer asks you how bad the foreclosure thing is out der in suthern californIA and you reply, "well, the NOD's were down 4.7% last month, but we know it's just an anomoly for June and there were 1,300 foreclosures in the county here, another record. But anyway, can we get back to talking about disaster recovery? Preparing for a hurricane to take out your data center is such a much more pleasant subject."

Hurricane?

Where are you?

I guess SoCal does get the occasional storm.

You know when a hurricane is coming. (Boy, in Fla, do you

ever know!) And you know when it's left.

And earthquakes. . . well, you don't know when they're coming,

but I suppose the ground stops shaking and they left. . .

But when will we know whether the housing/financial crisis has

ended?

I'm here in OC, but my customers are all around the country. This time of year, it's the ones in hurricane zones that are more serious about shoring up their DR plan. This is probably sick, but I have always wanted to sit through a hurricane. Thought my dream was going to come through June 1 '07 when I was in Florida with a storm coming in, but it only turned out to register as a tropical storm :( It was still pretty cool because the office building I was in was all glass, so you could see the storm wailing away. Usually, I'm only out there in earlier May and Nov.

I've been in South Fla since 72, and never been through a hurricane.

We fled Andrew & I'm awefully glad we did. Total terror for my neighbors.

Completely totalled house. Generous insurance company. (Thanks Pru!!, still)

Our subdivisions was in the northern eye wall.

In the 2 years of 8 storms one came close, and we got a bunch of

rain. One neighbor flooded, but we are on a tiny (8 inch?) hill and

didn't. The lawn was underwater, and the drainage ditch in the front

overflowed. Some of our oaks just fell over as sand wasn't enough to hold

the roots. Live oaks do better, but they take a really long time to grow big.

The pines have less of a sail effect and they stayed up.

When IR buys a house, of course. ;)

Ok, IR, how much further down from where you Californians are now would

it have to go before you buy your house? 30% more (that would be a half

price sale, no?) 40% more? 50% more?

Been through a hurricane, unfortunatley it was Katrina (helping my brother and his wife). It wasn't fun, it was quite scary, but biggest part was helping the people who had lost everything. It was quite distressing.

I spend too much time because i'm constantly combing over all the data and how to set up a REIT.... ha ha

Be safe and don't take it easy.

I am new to this website and have a lot of catch up reading to do between IR and BK's wonderful postings. In several occasion after extended hours of reading without any break, I felt like I have DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis).

You speculate who among you at the gym, library, grocery store is a regular IHBer.

Also you have a strange desire to buy shrimp paste although you have no idea why.
