I am surprised that there is no thread for this place (at least...not listed in a search).  This is probably our favorite Korean restaurant in the area.  They have a limited menu but do everything well.  Portions are huge and prices are very reasonable.

Only "drawback" is that they stick with the three basic sidedishes.  Two types of kimchi and a glass noodle dish (which is great).

Good service and clean environment.  For better or worse, it's in Diamond Jamboree.

Also, able to achieve a 4-star rating on Yelp:

Gonna have to try this place out. I don't even know where it is within DJ. We stopped going over there except for the occasional 85 degrees breakfast run.

It's on the other side of DJ (Kicking Crab)...between the pho place and the Korean bakery

Any direct comparisons with Tang 190 in CV?

I don't like Tang 190 very much...the couple times I was there, service was poor and the soup was not super hot.  It was also pricey.  Yigah is much better IMO and actually has a bigger menu.

interesting.. I liked Tang.. but now interested in trying Yigah.  Had good service last time at Tang but it wasn't that busy (went early for lunch)

JMoney, you wanna go to Yigah or Fukada?? Your choice for lunch... Or we can do back to back? It takes me a while to get to Irvine from JC

Okay... now that you've publicly admitted your height deficiency on TI, I'll respond to your texts.

Or is that some other deficiency?

I tried out Yigah tonight and got the Pork Cutlet and Galbitang (same 2 items I always get at Tang 190)

- Ban Chan
3 pickled items (raddish, cabbage, leafy green) and a glass noodle one.  Definitely one of the worst ban chan varieties at a Korean restaurant I've had.  Taste of each of these dishes were pretty good though.  The glass noodle one was unique and similar to Jap Jae, but without any other vegetables.

- Pork Cutlet
I accidentally order special "korean" version and when it came out, it was covered in a watery butter/tomato sauce.  The watery butter sauce really put me off so I asked if I could get the normal version instead.  The normal version is the exact same one as the Tang 190.  Yigah's portion is HUGE.  I would say double the size since it's thicker and much larger than the one Tang 190 servces.  Pork was very tender, but I felt there was too much breading (a little thicker than the thickness of the pork cutlet).  The sauce they provide is a standard cutlet sauce, nothing special.  Tang 190's sauce is home made and has a much deeper and unique flavor (I believe there is some apple in it).  Also, the shredded cabbage at Yigah has a  thicker cut than Tang 190 so you can really taste the cabbage.  I prefer the much thinner cabbage puree from Tang 190.

- Galbitang
Taste very similar to Tang 190's version.  Only difference is that this one had much more of a pepper flavor.  I would have preferred less pepper so I could enjoy the flavor of the broth more.  The pork ribs tasted the same as Tang 190's (same soft texture as well).

Price-wise, Yigah is definitely a better bargain.  Prices are about $1-$2 cheaper per dish than Tang 190.  However, I will gladly pay the higher price at Tang 190 due to their better ban chan, better tasting food, and easier parking.

Had the Galbitang and the Bibimbap.. The soup of the Galbitang was flavorful but the beef rib was too chewy.  The bibimbap was dinky, almost an IHO one biter.  The sides were a joke... never going back...

Two strikes for Irvine so far... MCOW and YIGAH! :(

You're a tough one :)  Yigah definitely doesn't have much in side dishes but I like just about everything else.

We finally ate here.

Mrs. IHO had the galbitang (I called it owytang) and I had the gigantic pork katsu (in spite of being Jewish).

The katsu was interesting, you can order it plain or Korean style where they put this tomato like sauce on it. The Korean one is flatter because the table next to me ordered the plain one and their katsu was much thicker.

Can't believe how crowded this place is and they only have like 7 entrees on the menu.

For whom recently ate there have they increased price recently?  We just ate there last week and realized that $26.20 does not sound right for Galbitang and Tonkatsu which is 10.99 each?
