Worlds Best Whiskey

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Haha, that's the bottle I got when I was in Taiwan last year.  Tasted a bunch of their other offerings at their retail store.  Picked it because it had a different flavor profile than their other ones, and because it was an award winner :).  Nice packaging reminds a bit of JW Blue Label.  Total Wine in Tustin has 3 of their other lower quality whiskies.
Will definitely pick up another one next time I'm back in Taiwan.

Also, Costco at the District has the Macallan Director's Edition for $50, pretty good deal since it's a limited production and sold out in a lot of places.  Smooth and fruity and very sherry, classic Macallan.

Not much of a whisky drinker, usually order a chivas or crown at hosted bars :)

Where can you get that Taiwanese whisky?  I went to total wine recently and did see the other whiskys by the same company but the box/label looks different.

There's also a Japanese whisky at Costco, I think it was around $50.  I'll probably get a bottle of the limited crown they have on sale next time.

Unfortunately, I think the only place you can get that particular whiskey is in Taiwan/Taipei, at Kavalan's retail stores.  Who knows, maybe they'll start exporting it here if there's enough demand.  Ask your local wine store merchant to see if they can order it for you.  Yea, Total Wine in Tustin does carry three other Kavalan whiskeys, but they are not as highly rated.
Yea, Costco does carry a pretty decent selection of popular whiskeys.  I saw they had their Kirkland 21 yr blended scotch for $70.  Anybody tried it?
But, if you want to impress regular people, can't go wrong with a bottle of JW Blue Label and a Macallan in your liquor cabinet.
99 Ranch has the JW Blue on sale for $129 this week (today might be the last day).  Cheapest I can remember is maybe at Costco for $120 when they go on sale.
