I noticed Las Colinas and some of the newer communities have cool wooden gates with metal peep holes for outside.  Does anyone know any companies in the area that specialize in these gates or does Taylor Morrison make these?

 
The peep holes that you are referring to are called speak easy. It was a device on a door where liquor was illegally transferred hands without seeing clearly who was on the other side of the door receiving the alcohol or getting paid during the prohibition era. The criss cross wrought iron opening was sized to a standard diameter of a wine bottle. The interior side of a door was a wood leaf hinged over the opening positioned at eye level.  This type of speak easy over a gate has no real meaning or purpose other than a designer lacks the understanding of its usage.

thanks for the advice.  I looked at Costco, and it looks pretty good but I'm looking for ones where you can look through the top.  I'll keep searching.
 
Rather looking for a gate already built why don't you commission one to make you a gate based on your wishes? Be unique and have at least something that is personalized when everything else is all cookie cutter.
