Is the replacement cost really $500? We are currently renting in Woodbury and while I'm not planning on losing the key FOB I just find it amazing that the replacement cost is $500. I think our landlord or his realtor is making this up. I can't find the cost of replacement in the HOA site -http://www.woodburyhoa.org.We are considering renting for another year from this owner come summertime... maybe I'm just trying to catch them in a lie to justify wanting to move on :)

Key FOB opens gates and association areas such as pool, spa, tennis, club houses, gym... I have seen them advertised for $100 - $200 for non-residents. It is possible that the HOA charges $500 to discourage black market.

Go to home depot, make 2 copies for $5, put them in a safe place and don't worry about it.

Problem solved!

the black market for key fobs? iiiinteresting.... <light bulb going off in acpme's head>

"pssst, you looking for access to a pool? i've got what you're looking for-- woodbury, woodbridge, northwood, north park. i can get your kids into a sweet playground in pacific ridge. i've got some turtle ridge transponders and a key code for the bathroom on the jeffrey spine. whatcha need???"

hahahaha, how about a transponder for Coto acpme? I want to hang out with the "real housewives"! Ok, not at all really :)

I'd have to go look it up but I am pretty sure my lease (with TIC @ Woodbury) claims $500 for fob replacement... over at Villa Coronado it was over $100 if you lost your plastic parking permit, and $50 (I think?) for replacing the gate/garage opener. It's exorbitant but I don't plan on 'misplacing' my fob, either. :)

maybe its different for homeowners and apt renters in woodbury. its only $50 for homeowners. i'm not sure how the arrangement works between irvine apt communities and woodbury hoa to allow IAC residents access but i can imagine the hoa really wants to discourage renters from losing, selling, or keeping the fobs when they move with the $500 replacement cost.

I'm renting a condo/townshouse from an individual not the TIC in Woodbury. The owner told me it costs them $500 to replace their key FOB which I doubted. It's possible that their agent confused the TIC terms with the Woodbury owner terms. I don't plan on losing the key either way though :)
