Esplanade was indeed a Taylor Woodrow project. Oops! Taylor Woodrow has driven its good name into the dirt. The company has changed hands for the third time. The KB and Ryland managements who reigned the previous regime are also gone. For the time being the name is Taylor Morrison Homes.
Many architects during the boom time designed projects without any discipline in cost restraint. This was a part of the reasons for the escalating construction cost. When construction cost became too high because the design was too complex then it is impractical to built and sell a million dollar townhome.
The knife catchers out there are becoming extinct. It was a big mistake in hiring an architect who has no clue in construction cost. Hidey is well known for fancy luxury products but clueless in designing products with low price tag! As products get fancier so are the prices. It is about time to focus on the basic and simple solutions for homes rather than those Caesar Palace of home designs!
