Woodbridge High School in Irvine was briefly locked down after a replica airsoft gun was seen in a car on the campus parking lot, police said.
Authorities were called to the school at 2 Meadowbrook at about 10:15 a.m. after campus officials had placed it on lockdown as a precaution, said Farrah Emami, spokeswoman for the Irvine Police Department.
Irvine police responded to assist school officials after the ?suspicious object? was reported. The lockdown was lifted in about 15 minutes after it was determined the gun was a replica and belonged to a male student.
?We are working with the responsible student and his family,? Emami said. ?No threats were made to any student and there?s no danger to any student related to this incident.?
The school resumed normal activity and no arrests or citations have been reported.
