Most of these neighborhood streets can get awfully dark at night.  Have you ever tried driving around Woodbury?  As a driver, I feel like I need to take it extra slow with all the people crossing streets everywhere. 
 
Agree with the darkness comment. This result is so sad. It is next to impossible to see pedestrians and cyclists at night without proper lighting. People need to carry flashlights or wear led bands, but it might be time for flashing crosswalk lights on the street when someone is in the crosswalk (e.g. Michelson & Cilver).
