I love iPhones, but I hate that they don't have expandable storage like Androids.

So I saw this on Kickstarter:

I thought it was cool that you could transfer files to the device via USB and then access them via the Lightning connector and an app.

But using Google-Fu, I think I found something better:

It's similar in that you can transfer files to it via USB, but then you access them wirelessly... and you can connect to it on iOS or Android (and have multiple devices connected to it at the same time).

But that's not all...

Unlike the iStick, the SanDisk device using microSD cards as the memory storage so the memory is not only expandable, it's interchangeable.

The 32gb unit is on sale at Best Buy for $49.99 this week. I'll get one to see how it is:

not worthy it...

iphone is 80 bucks and android is 50 bucks...  how often do you transfer files???
Not sure what you mean by not worth it.

It's basically a wireless media storage device that I can access from any phone or tablet (iOS or Android) and can have the memory expanded or changed out. If I buy a new phone/tablet, it can still use it.

They have similar devices that are more like small hard drives but I prefer the portability and flexibility of a USB flash drive/microSD card reader.

Can you write to it wirelessly?  Maybe I can use these for my internet cameras for video storage.

Gah... Mission Alpha failed... BB in Irvine didn't have it.

I should have checked the stock online but I was in the area and just dropped by.

Costa Mesa is the closest BB that carries it... I'll order online and do in-store pickup to ensure sucess of Mission Beta.

So I finally tried my Sandisk Wireless USB drive and it worked quite well.

I can download the Sandisk App on any iOS or Android device, turn on the drive and then up to 5 devices can access the files/pics/videos on the drive. Used it on a plane to stream videos to my iPad mini and my kids' devices (and not the same videos).

I also ended up buying a Kingston 5-in-1 that also is a backup battery:

The USB drive is more portable, but this also helps with extra juice when needed.

So awesome that I don't have to worry about using the 16GB on my iPad mini anymore.
