What's up with OCHN?

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program

I received a Facebook notification recently that O.C. Housing News changed its page name to "Real Estate Hawks". I went to O.C. Housing News (formerly known as Irvine Housing Brokers), and I saw that it is now "Market Insite Real Estate Advisors". In the contributors section, Shevy was replaced with a couple managing directors from said advisory group. (Edit: Larry is still there.) Anyone know what's going on? I've been spending far too much time focusing on my real life and not enough on internet matters. It seems like there is some new iteration every few years, which is about how often I visit.

First (and you know this SoCal), ochousingnews.com is not formerly the Irvine Housing Blog. Larry used to write for the IHB but then started his own site (OCHN)... irvinehousingblog.com is still active and owned by the same person who owns TI.

As for OCHN, the URL is still active and I don't see any reference to Hawks but I do see the Market Insite logo at the bottom.

I don't think OCHN has as much readership as it used to, most of the comments on each post are from Larry and there aren't as many regulars as there are on TI. I also think because Larry is more a Realtor now than a blogger, that changes perception.

I still think his site is too messy. I get dizzy sometimes looking at all the stuff he has on there... and quite frankly... he needs to update it to a more modern design. It doesn't even have a mobile mode so it's messier to look at on phones.

I hope Larry's business is doing well, but I imagine it's hard for him to criticize Realtors/Lenders and also that be his business.

I think Larry took a job as a housing analyst with insight.

So less real estate sales, more analysis.  Seems like a better fit for him.

Near the end of IHB, I was only visiting it to read the forums.
I tried reading the OCHN, but like iho said that site is ugly.  Worse than the simple format that was IHB.

Plus the comments weren't as interesting anymore.

Unsure what the connection is between Market Insite advisory group, Real Estate Hawks, OCHN, and Evergeen Realty (big question mark there) or if he's even still a real estate broker anymore. It's too much for me to keep track of. I know it says on the homepage of OCHN that he still offers a full service brokerage. But considering the various websites and pages are always in flux, who knows. Maybe they're not interconnected and are just different projects / multiple balls in the air that he's juggling. Anyway, it doesn't really matter, I was just curious.
