From a document I'm reading, at least four residential developments were in some stage of planning by TIC in Santiago Canyon in 2004. These were known as Santiago Hills II, and East Orange Area I, II, and III. The last two were to include a golf course. Obviously, they didn't happen. Does anybody know about them? How big were they going to be, what was their location, etc. TIA.

Not sure if you've seen this, but here is map:

Have you checked out www.eastoforange.com?

Click on the button in the top left and you see alot of stuff

For example:

The new residential neighborhoods east of Orange are planned to include a total of about 4,000 homes on 2,000 acres. The Irvine Community Development Company is planning to create four separate and distinct neighborhoods. Santiago Hills II will be a 1,596-home community on 494 acres between Irvine Regional Park and Peter's Canyon Regional Park. Area 1 plans include about 1,000 homes on the bluff top east of SR 241. Area 2, overlooking Irvine Lake, will feature about 1,200 homes with spectacular views of the ridgelines and mountains of East Orange.

My guess is this stuff is later on the pipeline behind Orchard Hills, Woodbury East, finishing Portola Springs, etc.

Well they can't just wish them to appear, it takes time and grading and utilities and etc.

Why are we assuming that development has stopped? Has it? I though I sawd a new "bridge" in the middle of Irvine Lake.

I wonder if folk realize that area was the old OC dump west of Irvine lake. I haven't seen trucks go out there in years. Use to be a moto-cross track in the same area.
