I've been visiting Diamond Jamboree more frequently and I still don't get the 85-obsession.

It's not just the long line but when you look in at the people paying, they have trays of like 10-15 pastries.

Is it really that good? I've even seen people in other areas of Irvine holding their 85 bags of baked good like it was a brand new LV purse they just got.

For those who have tasted the holy grail of bread... what do you like to get at 85?

And I haven't tried it, but is the Salt Coffee salty or sweet?

My wife and I really enjoy the maple brick toast, brioche, apple pie, and the mini cheesecakes.  Recently my mom has been going for the more savory items, like the mini hawaiian pizza and the garlic toast.

The Salt Coffee is sweet on the bottom until you hit the foamy part (whipped sea salt) and it turns a little salty.  What I like to do is mix it up nicely so you get a taste of both.

Try ordering the passion fruit ice tea, really refreshing on a hot day in Irvine  :P

Choco bun, haven't seen it the last few times I was there, chocolate and cranberries(?) makes a nice combo.  I still can't get over the fact they don't wrap their bread in little baggies like JJ, how clean is that tray really?  Or even the tongs?

Tell me about it... and I see all kinds of people picking through there.

I find that the Korean Bakery inside of HMart has some pretty decent baked goods without the lines.
