Is anybody here a web designer or know about web design?

I'm not very good at that stuff and need somebody to help me put together a website and answer some questions. I have the logo, design and content, just not the technical part.

So if you are looking to make some extra cash let me know...

thanks

If you would like to make one easily yourself you can try Google Sites (formerly Google Page Creator.) You can even buy the domain name so that it appears how you want without Google being in it. I have made 2 myself and my husband made one for his company's official site. There are some limitations to it but it's a user-friendly and cheap way to make one. Last I checked it's still free unless you want to purchase a specific domain name and then it's just a nominal fee. Hope this helps.

Is it a fairly small site? Do you require dynamic content or complex Flash?

I want to imbed flash and I need a site that allows users to log in (meaning I need security). This is a site for my clients so they can track their investments online. You know....moving away from paper statements?

I placed an offer on another site and got several bids from people to do the job. At the same time I don't really want to work with someone in India or Asia as they are the only bids I got or people in US but the east coast. I preffer to work with someone locally and put a face to a name.

If you want a site to actually do something besides look pretty (ie. login/security) you are going to need more than a website designer.

Web Designer just do all the pretty stuff.... you need more like a web programmer.

You could always put out a posting at the local collage campus.

I try to keep my freelance stuff very easy, as I do programming and design all day at work and need to keep it pretty brainless after-hours. Otherwise I go nutso. This will require someone who can do both Flash and some programming. Might take more than one person. Just a single login isn't that difficult (can be done within Linux if that is your OS), but with multiple clients you will need some sort of database most likely. It looks like IPO has given you a reference. . .
