<em>But it was still the slowest October since DataQuick began collecting statistics in 1988, with sales down 45.3 percent from a year ago. Over the past 20 years, October sales have averaged 24,725 homes.

</em>Oh yeah, that's a positive sign. Not to mention, that resale homes and condos in OC were actually down from last month. That isn't even a dead cat bounce. A dead cat bounce would at least be close to the average, and it is 55.6% below average.

<em>""We can expect the issues with jumbo financing to slowly resolve themselves," said Marshall Prentice, DataQuick president, in a press release. "Meanwhile, demand is accumulating and when the market does level off, there will be a catch-up period.""</em>

What does it mean when "demand is accumulating?"

What happens during a "catch-up period?"

That is some of the weakest spin I have ever read. This dolt is trying to imply we are at the bottom without actually saying it. Or worse yet, he is implying their will be some huge increase in prices after the bottom is reached and you should probably buy now or you might miss it.

All this from a data service. I guess he probably owns a house.

<p>volume slows than prices drop. As prices fall, volumes pick up. Until we start seeing CONSISTENT price increases, we haven't reached the bottom.</p>

I think we're 0-for-6 right now...

<p>By the way, who is paying for all those re fi and mtg ads that are everywhere?</p>

<p>Are they all just scams to pull the suckers in? I used to think they were paid for months in advance and that's why they were still out there, but that can't still be true.</p>

<p>Lenders are torturing even the best buyers and taking forever. They don't want business, I don't think.</p>

Probably signed a 1 year marketing contract to gurantee lower per-add cost. Either BK or run current adds until contract comes up for renewal.
