Apparently some guy got scammed buy a fake cop in Irvine.

Article: The guy received a phone call and they said he owed the US Attorney General Office in back taxes.
My comment: a person should receive correspondence from the IRS.
Article: The guy was instructed to pay them in Green Dot Money Cash Card, and the guy said no.
My comment: No government agency will ask you to buy a Green Dot Money Cash Card.
Article: The fake cops went to his house and took him in a fake police car. They let him go, after the guy agreed to buy a Green Dot Money Card.
My comment: Why did the guy open his door? Again the IRS agency is responsible for payment of taxes. The article didn't say what agency the fake cops were from. Also, the article didn't go in detail if the guy bought the card, but just said the guy agreed to buy. Hmm

If you refuse to pay taxes - you can be prosecuted and if convicted. You will go to jail. The key word is prosecuted. They won't send you to jail without a trial.
