I was driving around today and I noticed a neighborhood near UCI.  Its called University Hills.  There seems to be decent sized SFRs in the area and I zillowed it.  Surprisingly, they seem well priced in the $600-700k.  But I tried searching for homes for sale and nothing comes up nor does it show anything sold in the area recently within the 2 years.

This area is borders Anteater Dr., E Pelatson Dr. and the 73 freeway north of Bonita Canyon Dr.

You have to work for UCI to buy there. Its part of campus housing.  It's a nice neighborhood. Maybe the state of California should sell the homes to the public to make up some budget deficit.

University Hills is almost like income-restricted housing... UCI sets your buy/sell price.

That's why the tuition is so high.  Goes to subsidize teachers housing.  As if pay raises and pensions weren't enough.

in Irvine, housing is more expensive than other areas but you can find affordable housing if you

• leech off from social services
