Airbnb is illegal?  Whatt?  I'm using it now and I see homes listed on AirBnb in Irvine.

According to the article: "Status: The city bans the rental of a space or unit for 30 days or fewer, unless it?s in a hotel-motel zone. Those who violate the policy could face a $100 fine for the first day, $200 for the second day, $500 for the third day and every day thereafter."

That hasn't seem to stop the mainlanders from still trying to rent it out.

Did you check if there is a hidden camera?  ;)

Just another thought, do you think all the construction workers are legit?

Since Irvine has an ordinance against AirBNB type businesses, why are the listings still up?  Seems easy to enforce.

Someone has to turn them in. City doesn't have someone who sits around looking at airbnb to enforce that law. Is there even a fine they would collect to pay for that person to actively search those listings out and enforce it?

Arborcrest HOA got one taken down but it was because a neighbor turned them in.
